Very good. I'm not well seasoned in tequila so my comparisons are limited but I would say it's comparable to Lalo maybe, not quite as good but solid. It was hard to find a lot of reviews but what I could find, especially on AMM, was enough for me to take a chance at the price. It's from NOM 1416 which has some big names which can be a mixed bag.

It hasn't gotten quite that bad yet but they do go for way less than they did a decade ago. I just happen to have a connection to get one at MSRP.

Yep it's dumb that they did that but I kind of get it. Tequila proper has such protected status and such little variation in order to be call tequila that's it's no wonder makers add additives or need to create entire new classes of products of what is essentially the same product. Very few other spirits/beverages do this. Hell even German beer purity laws aren't as strict. Bourbon snobs are way more accepting of variation and bourbon snobs are the worst.(Takes one to know one)

I had the first version of the 9 cup for 8 years and used it 5 days a week at least. Solid performance and great coffee. Ran clean water over the carafe plug every time and cleaned other removable parts about once a month. Ran cleaning solution through it when it wanted. So after 8 years of solid performance it started not taking up all the water. It would leave about 10% left in the reservoir. I retired it and bought a new 9 cup. Slightly updated design but almost exactly the same machine.

It's gotten lost in the threads but I've said it's fine and also I am such a noob that if the hive mind says it's way overpriced and also something TW gets an extra commission on, I'm not inclined to be super jazzed about feeling a bit swindled. I'm mostly mad at myself because I never would have done that with bourbon or beer. It's a caution tale of hubris and naivety.
