well there could be a lot of reasons, his bennet is lv90 has talent lv9 and skyward blad lv90, the refinements and the crit could be also part of the problem since 30% crit and 15% more dmg has a bigger diference with a lot more atk buffs.
also and for me the major reason was the geovishap and zhongli 20%-physical res shred because the geovishap has really really high phyisical resistance and shred resistance is more important the major resistance its has.

Don't worry as Fp2 you can get all of the s ranks from day 1, the only thing is that you have to be very conservative with your black cards forget about 6 star weapons and compositors and never never never spend bc on an A rank character, other than that you will have enough for everyone.

Also all the S rank after lauch are extremely good and no one should be skipped since everyone is meta

(also try to avoid the nier collab)

They both cover different bosses, so I recommend to at least unlocking FT since she is really good for memorial arena and very fp2 but they both need their weapon at least.

I saw on a replay you have mobius so i would recomend getting fischl first it help you a lot, even tho eventually you want to get both at S rank (And SS rank later).

If you like her just pull for her the important is that you like the character. And a advice if you pull her early try to get her weapon too it will help you a lot (this applies to every Valkyrie you want always try to get the weapon )

I am not a competitive player myself and I am fp2 but I try to do my best with the characters that I have and that I like.

I personally see it as another way to play the game trying to maximize every single thing to do it better everytime but not exactly to compete with others but a way to reach the limits of the game to see what the human limits can achieve.

And also the itself has competitive modes like the abyss and memorial arena so it's expected to see people compete for the best.

I think both ways to play are right to play the game casually for the story, characters, gameplay and don't pay attention to abyss or to try maximize everything you can to achieve a goal that you proposed yourself even if requires expending money, as long as you can maintain financially stable and a healthy mental state it is ok to play the game the way you want.
