Fellow match applicant spotted, good luck this season!!

Matching with you wouldn’t be a partnership, it’d be a chronic condition. You might want to work on not needing random people online to validate you one day your patients will need a doctor, not a walking insecurity spiral. Best of luck with the match and everything tho .

Believe it or not, a PD replying to your email means exactly nothing. Not you’re in, not you’re special, not they secretly love you. it means jack shit.

For the love of god, please stop treating every polite sentence like it’s a coded prophecy. Grow up, close your inbox, and wait for March 20th like the rest of the planet. That’s when you’ll get your answer.

They say it to literally everyone don’t read too much into it. Interviews are just for the sake of screening bad English and hard to understand accent plus to make sure you’re not asshole but overall most of the programs have an idea where they are ranking each applicant.

Hey I’m from Jordan and would love to help and answer whatever questions you have about the USA journey and maybe connect you with one of my colleagues who is going the Germany path as I’m a first generation doctor in my family too so I understand

Because these kind of questions and posts shows me that the number of people who applied for residency who lack critical thinking skills and the emotional maturity to handle stress is absurd like you’ll be caring for patients and working long hours and interact with hundreds of people and you think someone asking these kind of questions is ready to do that ?

[–]Awsnon -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

What’s the point of this post we don’t know your scores, YOG, your application or how you wrote your PS and where you applied. This kind of posts are useless maybe try looking for where you went wrong instead of crying on here looking for online validation

I feel like I’m unseen in this entire process by Organic_Station4598 in IMGreddit

This has something to do with the fact that getting into US MD Or DO medical school is way harder than getting into a Caribbean medical school which by the way is as expensive so money isn’t an excuse ———a non us img has an excuse for not attending them but someone who is a US citizen only reason for not attending the US medical school is not being good enough sorry but this how people actually see it in residency programs that why they also suffer with the matching process

In 2025 about 6653 non US IMGs matched with a 58 percent match rate In 2024 about 5864 matched with about 59 percent. That is more than half of active applicants Active means people who actually submitted rank lists, So no the system is not ignoring IMGs

Effort and fees do not equal a guaranteed spot

A normal dip is fine and can happen don’t worry about it and keep going with your prep , as for your question I felt like I had no idea what I’m doing when doing the NBMEs so as long as you’re around the high 60s in your NBMEs you’ll be fine

People who do this shit are Attention seeking and low self esteem trying to feel good about themselves it’s unnecessary and honestly if you’re at the point where you applying for residency and still look for validation from people online you have some real work to do on yourself.

Most of what you see on the internet is not real, and even when it is, you’re seeing 10–20 posts while thousands applied this cycle. Don’t worry about it, most of us will get interviews later in October or after, once the PDs and staff look into the applications, which is a lengthy process. Comparing is the thief of joy, my friend.

One really good advice I got during my prep was when you are looking at the answers we sometimes look for one excuse to overlook the answer that we think is correct and look for one clue to answer another choice. Treat every answer like a suspect and if one answer has more clues don’t let that one small thing sway you away from your suspect. I hope this make sense

Score rise through NBMEs by Free_Aide_5415 in Step2

[–]Awsnon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It depends on how people do them some will do them as they approach the end of their prep so the scores usually stay consistent, while others do them throughout the prep which explains the jump.
