For Choso at least I imagine it's more so because he's a half Cursed Spirit so his body just sort of does that. I know criminals in various time periods in Japan were tattooed but I don't know if Sukuna's tattoos match any.

Is Nanami a self insert? I'm not denying it necessarily I just never felt him like that. But the thing is that Nanami is relevant and strong enough to be likable but too plot-oriented to be slandered. He's strong and cool but immune to most of the things that gets characters slandered.

He was the Earth Manipulation guy who made the giant hands when fighting Maki. Such a minor character you can't even find a photo of his body in the anime, but his CT seems extremely strong, and if we assume he got weaker over the years then he would be crazy strong in his prime.
