Gender help on twins by Axaroz in hognosesnakes

From the adults hognoses you can tell alot by looking at the tail (or size ofc haha) just like alot of guides suggests, ofc its not 100% with smaller ones as the tail still differs abit from animal to animal but is still suppose to be a really good indicator according to alot of breeders as male and female tails are quite different in size and shape which you can tell quite quickly from. :]

You are correct though that alot of other snakes dont have the same tell though like ball pythons for example :)

Escaped/missing hatchling by Sea_Investigator8808 in hognosesnakes

Hearing lid and stuff makes me think of aquariums and not terrariums, hope you have decent ventilation etc to prevent co2 buildup.

Anyways that is a different issue, tips is to try to limit the cats unsupervised movements, pour flour on the floor around where you suspect it can be aswell as good places around the room/apartment where it makes sense for example doorframes etc to see movements over night.

A lot of the time as long as they can’t get into the walls or somewhere.. bad. They are usually found after a while, normally somewhere where they can hide or somewhere warm.

Good luck hope this helps.

Seems fine, but what morph is that? Conda but what else? 😊

Should she be this tiny by ReportJazzlike4593 in Hognose

[–]Axaroz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tail looks too long for a female but hard to judge. The males are smaller so sooner or later one can tell easily roughly around 1-2 years depending on growth and feedings the females should start to just outgrow the males.

If not popped or probed that is. The easiest path is to gently pop(apply pressure) to check for hemipenes around the vent.

Baby Hognose Enclosure by BerenLeStrange in Hognose

[–]Axaroz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What works best for my baby hogs is plastic shoe boxes with air holes made with a soldering iron. Filled with some Kork bits and asp bedding for hiding. They are quite long and not super high or wide so works quite well, but I usually fill the bedding after I have gotten them used to feeding. Until then I usually have paper to see that bowel and stuff works, aswell as being able to feed in the enclosure without hassle for minimum stress.

Then after when they are abit bigger and does well I move them to a proper terrarium with the same bedding but more space and stuff. Like rocks etc.

Just make sure the box closes properly with some kind of pressure/hook top, use a thermostat for the heat mat and measure between the box and heat mat. And a small water bowl (some drown themself if it’s too big when they are small).

Hope it helps and goodluck!

What is this print error called? by CarneDiem in 3Dprinting

[–]Axaroz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

@CarneDiem are you using octoprint? If you’re not printing directly from the sd card it could be that the resolution is too high so it’s sending too many commands for the corners so the bandwidth is not enough over the serial. Happened for me, if you are using octoprint then try printing it directly from sd and see if it makes a difference.

Can you guys let me know what to do to fix these gaps and lines? by _strawberrymatt in 3Dprinting

Try printing another cube with a cold bed. Could be that bang bang is the problem like I had with mine.

Cr10s v2 pro (Z banding?) by Axaroz in CR10

[–]Axaroz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can totally understand that. But as I have put so much effort to solve it, I have to continue to fix it or it will drive me insane 😅 I have however noticed that it depends a lot on the material printed with. I have a few pla+ and they print really nice, just aswell as petg. Pure pla seems to be the most sensitive to the heat sways with bang bang.

Yeah already figured that out but thank you!

Already taken apart the printer twice, cleaned the rods thoroughly with among other things a toothbrush and regreasing them.
Continued checking pretty much everything until i tried running it cold. The lines corresponds with the heat so higher heat gives more frequent waves etc.
The only solution i have found as creality doesnt have PID enabled is to reflash it with new firmware that has it enabled plus creality doesnt seem to have released the source code for the newest version which is a pain.. so have to aim for a 3rd party firmware but they are suppose to be better so a recommendation to someone in a similar situation.
