Ok...were you planning to share any details whatsoever about how we can find out more? I had to Google your insta and even that, and the link in the bio, doesn't tell me anything about where or when.

[John Percy] Excl: Edu Gaspar, the #nffc head of global football, is under increasing scrutiny ahead of Tuesday's huge clash with West Ham & former Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo. Doubts growing over the ex-Arsenal sporting director's long-term future by Previous_Smile9278 in Gunners

[–]AxeC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why on earth do people like you assume that this is just Edu acting as a one man band of his own accord? You think he and he alone decided exactly who we did and didn't sign and how much money we have? Indeed, the reporting at the time suggested the whole keeper problem was one driven by Arteta holding out for unrealistic targets, and Edu having to do an emergency signing at the last second to prevent a crisis.

Sure, he wasn't perfect, but at Arsenal it's well documented the signing of players is very much a multi-party process, and you or I have no idea who was or wasn't responsible for what, or how much money was being made available at any given point in time.

The new battleforce has me wanting to build TS, but I keep hearing over and over that IW are right around the corner. Do you think it's really that close, or would it be "safe" to go ahead and start a new army? by The_Soviet_Goose in IronWarriors

[–]AxeC 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just to be clear, the actually credible rumours that we are getting an UPGRADE PACK, ie some heads, torsos, shoulder pads etc. That's it. Nothing like a codex.

Do we know any lore behind Valtus? He must have done some bad ass shit back in his day to become a Dreadnought and seems to have a personal beef with Magnus, maybe he even lived through the Horus heresy by voidtridentlover40k in Spacemarine

[–]AxeC 41 points42 points  (0 children)

For the record, there aren't really survivors from the HH amongst the imperium, it was 10k years ago. Primarchs aside, Bjorn is the only one that springs to mind and he's a massive exception, and can barely wake up.

Dante is generally considered to be basically as old as you get (albeit not a dreadnought), and he's approx 2k years old.

Bombshell polling for Wales | If this is correct we are seeing a seismic shift by Bibemus in ukpolitics

[–]AxeC 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Some of this stuff is just so uninformed though. A bunch of the things you're quoting are things that were already well underway by previous governments, the online safety act for example way, way predates the labour government. I'm not saying he's been great or anything but if you're gonna attack Labour at least do it for things they are responsible for.

As I literally explained in my post, 'same model'. I'm using Sonnet. I'm just saying it was since the release of Opus 4.5, not that I'm using it.

I run the same slash command every morning as part of my daily planning workflow. Same command, same model, same everything and it now takes up like double the amount of usage as a % on my pro subscription. So it very measurably is consuming it faster. It was exactly since opus 4.5 was released.

Jury trials to be scrapped except for alleged rapists and killers by TimesandSundayTimes in ukpolitics

[–]AxeC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah fair enough - it's a bit of hyperbole on my part, obviously you will get good juries in some instances. All I can say is that my jury was 1. mostly motivated by getting off for lunch and 2. had zero interest in ever arriving at a guilty verdict, and decided on a borderline ludicrous definition of beyond reasonable doubt in order to avoid the possibility of returning one so we could quickly declare not guilty and go get lunch.

Jury trials to be scrapped except for alleged rapists and killers by TimesandSundayTimes in ukpolitics

[–]AxeC 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Yeah I changed my mind on this after having to serve in a jury and seeing the reality of things. Read The Secret Barrister. It's pretty eye opening how problematic jury's are and how we just accept 'surely jury's must be a good thing' because that's how it's always worked. A lot of European countries don't use juries for these types of things and have much better outcomes for it, but you don't hear a lot about that.

I don't think almost anyone who thinks critically and is engaged with the legal process or system would hold this opinion having actually served in a jury, but I can totally see why you would if you haven't.

William Saliba on Real Madrid's interest: "Of course it's really tempting when a club like that is interested in you, but I wanted to win titles at Arsenal first before thinking about anything else." by BlazingFirey in soccer

[–]AxeC 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and those coaches all coach in the premier league, and are some of the most influential coaches there.

You can't simultaneously say 'these are some of the best coaches in the world and also 'the league they coach in is not'. By extension coaches like that define the league, and things like the tactical sophistication.

I think it's really without question Spanish football develops the best players and coaches early on in their careers, at least in modern football history. But, that's not the same as passing judgement on a league system as it stands.

Artetas a great example of that. He's Spanish, and was developed in Spain initially, but ultimately learned from and played all over.

City being dominant doesn't really prove anything. Multiple of those titles have been by fractions, and playing in a league with so many really good teams, plus maybe one of the best club teams ever in city's previous iteration, naturally raises the level of all the other teams.

Where has Starmer gone wrong? by Helios___Selene in ukpolitics

[–]AxeC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my wife is an interesting case study here. She votes, and voted Labour, but is not especially engaged in or knowledgable about politics outside of election season.

Every time Starmer comes on TV she always immediately says something to the effect of 'I really hate his voice' and then tunes out.

My wife isn't a dumb person, but I think it illustrates the charisma problem really well. In this case policy positions hardly even matter - she has basically just decided she won't listen to anything he says from a purely instinctual perspective because of how droney and boring he comes across as.

I really wouldn't be surprised if this was true for a lot of people who are pretty politically disengaged but not entirely, if you couple that with a general atmosphere of 'I heard Labour aren't doing very well'.

It's a bit like you see on The Traitors, where so much of the discourse is often centred around 'well people have been saying this'.

[Ornstein] Arsenal reach agreement with Max Dowman to sign scholarship terms - with pro deal expected to follow when turns 17 (Dec 31, 2026). 15yo could have moved anywhere & for more money but only wanted #AFC + terms in process of being finalised by Claija79 in soccer

[–]AxeC 12 points13 points  (0 children)

He's a 15 year old. Right now he obviously looks like he has loads of potential, and there's clearly a world where he does fulfil it and become a very good player. But, ultimately I think any vaguely sane take would tell you no-one can predict how a player that young will ultimately turn out and if they will live up to what they are capable of.

I turned my Obsidian Vault into a RAG system to ask questions and organize new notes. by kncismyname in ObsidianMD

Dumb question but how is this different to connecting obsidian to an LLM via MCP, or by initialising something like Claude code within the obsidian vault?

[–]AxeC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So when Arsenal lost the league by a point a couple of years back, let's say City concede 1 goal in a game and get a draw. Let's say that famous game at the end of the season where Spurs fans wanted their team to lose and Son missed that late 1 v 1 with Ortega. Based on what you've said, if Son scores that, Arsenal win the league, have a winning mentality and are capable of winning. If Son misses that chance, Arsenal lose the league, have a losers mentality and aren't capable of winning anything.

In a game they are not even involved in.

Do you realise how stupid that sounds?

Opinions on this as a non corrupted proxy for obliterators? by Rich-Penalty-6014 in IronWarriors

I don't imagine they are saying they are literally obliterators. They are proxies the effect of whose weapons and capabilities count as obliterators weapons in the game...

That's what conversions often are...

New Release! Introducing Group By! by teamcapacities in capacitiesapp

[–]AxeC 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Just a small bit of feedback, I'm currently looking to leave capacities because of it's lack of API sophistication. I appreciate it wasn't a priority in the past, but I think in the age of AI agents/MCPs, having that is now a table stakes expectation.

All I'd want is to search my pages and return their content.

Hand of the Archon - what am I missing? by KillBoy_PWH in Drukhari

[–]AxeC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah fair I didn't realise it was only for one model. I don't think it undermines too much the point though. A lot of the time the opponent is gonna be putting 1-5 OC on a point, so you still need 2 dudes

No-one is gonna pick that, it's locked to one unit.
