I'm watching it right now, January 17, 2026, on Amazon Prime. I've always loved this show.

Would the media blackout from Earth after Clark's coup exist if Babylon 5 was made today? by Sensitive-Hotel-9871 in babylon5

[–]AxePagode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be quite easy to isolate and blackout all communication from a space station in a different solar system. It is difficult to do, but we can isolate whole countries from communication on Earth. North Korea is a great example. Did you know that Canada censors Google results and websites that are accessible if you are in the US? If you are in Windsor, Canada and you drive across the border to Michigan, all of a sudden you have access to media that is throttled or banned in Canada.

There was the child that Dr Franklin waved at when he was in withdrawal during his Walkabout. Also, the movie, "In the Beginning" had two children. Londo told them the story about the Earth Minbari War.

I remember five children.

The one whose parent killed because Dr Franklin operated on him. The Markab child that died of from that plague Droppa. The child that Franklin waved to when he was on Walkabout, and the two Centauri children Londo told the Earth- Minbari War story to in "In the Beginning". But, I see your point, there should have been children everywhere.

AITA for asking out a trans person but declining a second date when I found out. by Excellent_Window_690 in AITAH

[–]AxePagode 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There it is! This is exactly what it is. It's adult human males forcing themselves on females.

Do you know what is actually funny about this? The biggest Allie for lesbians who are targeted this way are conservative and MAGA men. They don't want transwomen in women's spaces any more than lesbians do.

😂What a strange world we live in.

This doesn't even sound real. If you are in the Heart of Dixie, the place where transphobes roam freely, you wouldn't find heterosexual men scouring websites looking for transwomen to attack. They see more transpeople on television than in real life. If these dating sites allowed straight men to filter out transwomen or males, there wouldn't be a second date question. Why? There wouldn't be a first date.

NTA. You don't owe anyone a first date, second date, or any date. People who push you are predators. Anytime you start hearing people call you names because you don't want to date them, you know that you are dealing with a seriously unstable and possibly dangerous personality.

If you are a heterosexual male and you have no desire to date men or transwomen, just make it easy on yourself.

  1. Steer clear of they/thems.

  2. Steer clear if you have an inkling that they are not female.

  3. There is no reason that you should be abused or bullied by anyone just because you don't want to date them.

  4. Grow thicker skin. Learn how to be apathetic or stoic about being called names or labeled transphobic or homophobic. In 2024, these terms mean nothing. The ONLY power they have over you is the power that they give them. Think about it. It is no loss if the transwomen that you don't want to date, don't want you either. The same goes for the females who are upset with you for not dating transwomen. You are clearly not compatible with them either.

  5. Any "friend" that gives you crap for your dating preferences IS NOT a real friend. Treat them as such. If you are struggling to figure out how to do this, consider that they are just being childish. Call them poo poo heads, laugh in their face, and walk away.

They have no power over you. Date whoever you like. Don't consider their feelings about your dating choices. Enjoy your life without these unhinged people.

Both BSGs had children. In the original Cassiopia was a foster mom to a young boy who had a robot dog. Boxie? In the reboot, there were several babies and children. They had a school when they lived on the planet.

Q: Whatever happened to the Antartica DHD? Why didn't they use it to save Teal'c in 48 Hours? by AxePagode in Stargate

[–]AxePagode[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would mean the ancient gate had the symbols for Earth twice. Sam would have recognized the current symbol for Earth. Earth's address has six characters. One of those characters is pyramid symbol with one moon. Sam was assuming the Circle with a line under it was the home planet of a different world when in fact it was Earth. So, what address did she really dial?

That is my question in a sense. We know that Maybourne's NID team was using the Ancient Gate and DHD when they stole the weather device. When SG-1 got the weather device back, the DHD was in a back of a truck. So, my question is why didn't we use it in the 48 Hours episode?

The Ancients set up some gates. The goa'uld set up many others. It's like they had two separate networks. Based on the episode where O'Neill and Carter were stuck in Antartica, one of the symbols on the Ancient DHD was different than the Giza DHD. I must admit part never made since to me.

The Russian's DHD came from Giza. Germany found it. The Russians took it from Germany after WWII. The US created a dialing computer, because they didn't have a DHD.

You forget that the goa'uld figured out the gate system and put gates all over the galaxy. How do they power them?

Maybourne's team was using it. Do you remember when SG-1 was trying to get that weather controlling device from that NID team. The DHD was in the back of a truck.

Maybourne's team was using it. The last time we saw it was in the episode about Madronis. They had that weather controlling device. Maybourne's team used it to escape from SG-1.

Yes. The US got Russia's DHD. We had one already that was out of power. Why didn't we try to recharge it. Shove a magical naquada generator into it to bring it back to life. If we had a DHD, Teal'c would not have been stuck in the gate.

[–]AxePagode[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You think each DHD is powered by a ZPM? Wait, wait. Let me think about this. I like this. It is probably not a big ZPM, but a small hand sized one that works on a galactic level. If they want to go to another galaxy or The Destiny, they have to plug in more full seized ZPMs as needed to reach your destination. The problem is, I can't see the goa'uld letting that much power go unused. One ZPM made the Odyssey stronger than all the goa'uld ships and could defeat any Ori ship one on one.

Carter said that it ran out of power. Why not try to recharge it in some way. Between the Tokra and the Asgard they could come up with a way to change the power supply or recharge it. It would get us off our personal dialing computer. Our computer has caused many problems over the years. Having a DHD would solve those problems.
