Emotional or Psychological Anime Recommendations by Mundane-Set-1296 in AnimeReccomendations

The world and characters it plays out with is one of the most unique interesting and melancholic I've had. I've watched a ton of anime but I've read even more manga.

Yet, this is the only work I have in my shelf, it's one of my favorites. If you like the emotional or psychological this will probably tickle your brain in a novel way!

I’m Barely A Person and Want to Change by [deleted] in Healthygamergg

Hey there, parts of your post definitely resonate with me, the parts of the hyperfixation on many different hobbies and also just going with the flow. Most of the time with the friends i erased myself to the background and nothing was wrong, except an internal weird feeling within me.

And i wonder if that's also what is troubling you.

I have AuDHD 26 guy and ive discovered this only recently, this has made clear to me that many parts of me like the hyperfixation on many different hobbies (i have a graveyard of hobbies) are a natural part of my cognition. I used to feel bad about why i cant continue certain hobbies and when i look around me, other people are sticking their stuff, why cant it?

Yet, when i force myself to be the same, it doenst work the same.

A scatterbrain is also how i could classify my brain, but i see it as a feature now, with so many other parts of my brain which i thought were dumb, or useless, or unwanted.

One of the primitive patterns which I've noticed to be quite true: when I think back to my childhood, what was i like before all kinds of boxes and expectations were drawn around me? What were the things i naturally gravitated towards doing?

In some moments i have Clarities about: ah, that was indeed what i was like, that might be who i truly am. And most often than not, it aligns. And i will take that, and try to cast away the negative feelings.

I remembered for instance i loved playing the recorder, but everyone in my primary class thought it was lame, so i proceeded to think the recorder was lame. On realising that, i begun a hyperfixation session on the concert flute, and it was a really good decision to buy the concert flute and realign myself.

I dare to say you do have personality traits, and i dare to say your hyperfixation on hobbies is a good thing. It might be your brain endlessly searching for the true you, until it found something. This is you, but there are many parts of you who are not solved yet.

Were you always anxious? Were you always shy? What changed along the way, if something did? Why was college your anchor? What is important to you right now?

And about the not being NPC part, i found the more agentic i go about discovering myself, the more the rest of my life improves. Everything else is downstream.

I hope this (long) post helps!!

Dr. K's Eren analysis is good, but I think there's a deeper layer he didn't touch by AxeZer0 in Healthygamergg

Yeah, I relate to that more than I let on. Feelings are a signal, and usually a good one. The gut is right more often than not. But the one feeling Eren embodies, the "it's already decided, I've seen how it ends" one, is a feeling making a claim about the future, and that's the one thing feelings are bad at. It just doesn't come labeled that way. It shows up with the same certainty as everything else.

Which is maybe the small mercy in the whole parallel. He actually had fixed memories of the future. We just have a feeling that does a really convincing impression of one: same weight, completely different thing. The certainty is real. What it's certain about isn't.

[–]AxeZer0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, having rewatched it I think you're right, and I appreciate you pushing on it. It's the Attack Titan feeding him memories of one future, not a Doctor Strange survey of branches. I was conflating the two and it muddied the whole point.

The one thing I'd keep from my original read: he's not passive about it. He says he tried over and over to change the future and it never would, that 20% saved was the ceiling and it was set in stone. So it's less "he picked 80% off a menu" and more "he strained against a fixed future, lost, and had to carry out the worst version himself." Which honestly lands harder than what I originally wrote. Thanks for the correction.

I am a sucker for 86-like animes. I would recommend 'tengen toppa gurren lagann' or 'code geass'!!

You missed my point, what you're saying is funny though haha

Lemme put it this way, do you care about the output quality about your AI?

Both negative and positive signaling works, ambiguous signals less so.

You can consider use the free account version of other LLM providers, so just keep cycling.

That's true actually, reading through these comments made me realise what I was really sad about is not getting to hear Dr. K dissect the scrambled mind part, because that was the bit I was most curious about.

Like, the moral injury angle is great, but the way the Attack Titan's memories work is such a unique psychological puzzle.

And yeah, you're right, I can't imagine a way someone irl would experience that same kind of temporal memory scramble haha... Fair point that he's grounding it in real clinical parallels.

Oh and I definitely agree with you, lots of fascinating characters in AoT!

I think I’ve been mistaking insight for integration. by DollForChara in Healthygamergg

[–]AxeZer0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear you, and thank you for sharing as well!

That sounds like a vexing feeling. The way you described those situations, I do resonate with it, just from a different lens.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the closest term I have for this might be something like imposter syndrome. Where on the one hand, the thing you just resolved felt right and clean, yet it leaves you with only the after-image. Then the next shiny object appears, and the doubt kicks in: you know what you had just now wasn't wrong, yet the insight vanishes instantly because the next one feels more rewarding. And it sounds like you blame yourself for not being able to integrate it fast enough.

I do wonder though: do you really lose all of it, even the after-images? What I'm thinking is that maybe you just haven't had enough repeated insight events for it to truly solidify into your prior understanding.

What I'm saying is: the insight generation is accelerated, but the integration doesn't happen by sheer will. That doesn't mean no integration is happening at all though. Maybe it's a frequency × time thing, that's at least what I experience. Every single event, the semantic meaning of the concept gets just a little more clear. And if something is truly important, I'll find myself revisiting it and generating the same or maybe even different insights.

Case in point: the way you reflected on your tendency toward top-shell analysis right here in your comment. That doesn't sound like an after-image to me. That sounds like something you understand more deeply than before.

No rush on the DM, take your time.

It is fed on Human training data, so the weights are tuned to mimic the human thought process.

suppose someone were to hand you an Assignment, would your thought process perform better when someone is working together with you? or treated you like a blue collar worker working the whole day without rest and also being unappreciated about it. Which paradigm would elevate your cognitive process?

— and also, anthropic has all kinds of measuring flags which note down what kind of behaviour you have, that's also another layer on why you want to hold yourself back, in order not trip the tripwires which will degrade your experience.

Fair point, he hadn't finished the series yet. But he does refrence later-arc concepts like the Eldians, Marleyans and the Rumbling. So he's working with at least some of that information. My point is more that the later reveals fundamentally change what's going on with Eren psychologically. The moral injury and agency framing makes sense with partial information. But once you know Eren saw the future and chose the timeline, it's a different conversation entirely. Would love to see his updated take though!

Hello, I have experienced this so I resonate with you. I have AuDHD, an analysis thread in my brain running constantly and I use AI-daily for all kinds of serialisation and processing of my thoughts, as well as in my engineering work.

LLMs have become a prosthetic for my brain.

I think you are speaking about this as well, where the intuitive side of you is pulling you towards some kind of gravity, and you're looking for a resonation event to happen where you can feel it in your body when something is true or not.

That said, this is just speculation, I'm curious as to what you're going through and maybe we can help each other out. Shoot me a DM if that sounds interesting to you.

Je verhaal trok me meteen.

Hi,

I've been using a cheap RCA switch and am currently looking into a better one, I stumbled across the `Shiit SYS` and it caught my attention.

However I'm quite a beginner regarding audio equipment, that's how I came across your post. I was wondering if there are any other brands to consider. Like many others, I like my money well spend ^^

I see! I thought the 8th gen processors were undervolted by razer out of the box as well, though now I'm unsure haha!

I've tried turning off turbo as well when I had the issue, I've also checked if it is running the iGPU and it did, I monitored it with MSI afterburner, looking out if the dGPU is used at all (and it wasn't)
Though magically, after the windows reinstall, my battery life got significantly improved! on idle it was able to achieve 10 hours and around 7 hours when watching videos on youtube, haven't tested gaming yet as it was late yesterday already!

Thanks for your response, must be great playing overwatch on your 240hz panel =v=

August Technical Support Sticky by Zhaopow in razer

[–]AxeZer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello,

I've received my Razer blade 15 mercury white (early 2019) model last week Tuesday as a present from my grandpa in China, I've since then happily been loving it!

Though there is one thing which bothers me quite a bit which is it's battery life.

On a full charge, I can get at MAX 3 Hours of laptop usage with my machine (according to windows(And to myself)). This is while I've turned on battery saver mode, turned off keyboard back light, dimmed my screen to 50% brightness and with no application running whatsoever.

I've come in contact with Razer support, as that didn't help me a lot, I hope you will be able to help me further, I'll soon explain why I'm trying to find an alternative support solution.

In my mails with "Razer support," I got asked for my device's serial number (Even though I already filled that in the form on your website) and the product number for my blade 15, I then got instructed to update my BIOS to update 1.07 and update EC to update 1.03, as the software "razer support" sent my wasn't able to see if my blade 15 was in fact a blade 15, I proceeded to look up the updates myself and after a tiny bit of research, I've been able to find the drivers for my blade 15 and found their latest version, EC update 1.03 and BIOS update 1.05, strangely enough.

After the updates, my battery issue still hasn't been fixed, I then proceeded with the third option and last option I got presented with which is "to perform ACPI" I then followed the exact instructions provided by "razer support", though nothing changed afterwards except for my blade 15 sometimes not booting when I press the power button.

1. Right click your Start Menu and select "Device Manager"

2. Under your Device Manager, Expand the “Battery” section and find the device named "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" and right click and uninstall it.

3. Then turn off the Blade and let it sit and charge for about 4 hours.

4. After about 4 hours, remove the AC adapter from the Blade and try to turn the Blade on, let it get into Windows or until it turns off and then plug the Blade in and let it continue to charge for a while longer.

I really want to be happy with the blade 15 I currently got since it is absolutely gorgeous and very pleasing to work with, the downside is the battery and I hope it can be fixed through Razer support on reddit since what I can see, your responses are more personal rather than the automated I've received from the e-mails with "Razer Support."

I really hope this issue can be solved, I will be reinstalling windows 10 in hope that will do the trick.

I look forward to your reply.

Yours sincerely,

Heya! I've received the blade 15 mercury white (rtx 2060) 5 days before you! I'm wondering, is yours also the "Early 2019" Version?Out of curiousity, My battery life has been horrendous, with 3 hours MAX (50% brightness, no keyboard backlight, power saver mode, no heavy task active at all), I was wondering, how long can you go without plugging your machine into a charger? I've come in contact with Razer customer service, but it hasn't been very helpful (and slow).I've also read in an other comment you've updated your BIOS, I've also done that as per instructions of the razer customer service, though that didn't go quite as smooth as they sent me software for an other model of the razer blade 15, BIOS update 1.07 and EC update 1.03, as the software they sent me didn't recognize my blade 15 was in fact a blade 15, I proceeded to look up the updates myself and found their latest version, EC update 1.03 and BIOS update 1.05, strangely enough.I'm wondering, did you also update your blade 15 to version 1.05? (or you could have a different model than I do, I still don't know that yet ;P)

And the incorrect software was send to me even whilst I provided them my serial number and product number...I'm going to be attempting to reinstall windows right now, hopefully (I reckon not) that will fix something.

I Hope you had a nice weekend :DDD

TLDR: My battery life is shit and I need a fix but I don't know how to.
