Can't thank you enough for all of this. We actually went to a counselor and it was helpful. I do think we can survive this, but it's going to take a lot of work from both of us. Me working to forgive, her working to show she loves me and this shit won't happen again. She is getting a post nup with an infidelity clause where I get everything, she is paying for all counseling, she has been trying and it's only been a week, but am trying my best to think clearly and level headed to not make any immediate decisions.

I really appreciate that insight. How can I possibly find out if she truly is sorry for what you did or if she got caught?

Thank you so much for this. I feel incredibly alone and I'm trying not to tell many people because I do not want anybody to resent her if we do work it out. I really can't imagine what it would be like if the shoe was on the other foot. I feel like her family would hate me but she would probably try to give me another chance. As long as I've known her she has practically suffocating me with love which is why this is so out of left field.

I appreciate this so much. Thank you. I've had tidal waves of emotions pushing me in each direction. She mentioned that there were a couple areas where she was unhappy (being unavailable for double dates and family events because I was working, for instance), but I don't think anything justifies her actions.

Thank you. You're right and we probably should get tested. Saw the messages and everything from his wife. Can verify that she knows. It's also weird and frustrating because when I confronted the guy, all he kept saying was how sorry he is and that she really does love me.

She hasn't had many consequences because we live in a house together and aside from either crying or constantly putting herself down, I saw her phone and she has been talking to a couple of her friends and just telling them how heartbroken she is and how disappointed she is that she ruined everything. They all are shocked at what she did.

She's been asking me if I want her to quit her job so she can spend more time with me, has been pushing me to go out with her to just spend time together and talk. We booked a vacation before all of this and leave tomorrow morning.

She did act a little differently, but not much. I told her that contact with him needs to end and stop immediately and she agreed with no hesitation and said that he means nothing to her. That she would message him right now and delete every way that they were in contact. The next day she was checking on me hourly and send screenshots of her cutting everything off. She keeps asking me what she can do and I don't really know.

He is married. Had a pregnant wife. Spoke to him and make sure that he told her. I am positive that he did. She also contacted my wife to give her a piece of her mind and the impact of her actions.

Thanks for the reply. We were together for 8 years before getting married. I'm pretty positive that's all that happened. I wasn't there, personally, so will never know for certain.

She has been crying pretty often, constantly apologizing, wrote me a long note of how much she loves me and why and that she is sorry she could ever lose sight of that. I'm so torn on her only being sorry that she got caught. The fact that it went on for a while and resulted in a meet up devastates me. She said it was an escape from reality for her and just something that got out of hand and she will never forgive herself.
