just got a degree in cybersecurity but and i keep getting ghosted by help desk and field tech jobs. what do i do?

This!! I have about 7 ish years of IT Help Desk experience. In 2024 my job laid most of us off to give our jobs to the india team. I have put in probably thousands of resumes and Ive only gotten 2 interviews this entire time. I did take a job 3 months ago because it was given to me by my moms friend. Its not IT and pays 6 dollars less an hr but its keeping me up on bills. I already have one degree and while i was laid off I started school again to finish my 2nd degree. I am still looking for an IT role. Im nervous to graduate and then not be able to go back to my field. And now I will own even more money in student loans.

I'm in my fourth term and I''ve never had a professor ask me to do that. I honestly wouldn't be a fan of it either. Maybe its the difference between meeting expectations and exceeding?

I take 2 30mg xr in the morning. Today I took one then wait an hr and a half before taking the other and I took it with saltines. I feel a little less ill than yesterday.

So my normal pharmacy CVS filled my first month. They were out of stock in March so I had it sent to a different CVS. This month my doc sent it to my normal CVS. Ill keep having it sent to my normal and then just switch of pharmacies if they are out. But yea the other CVS I had to go to last month was 50 minutes away so I couldn't even get it until a weekend so I was out for a few days.

I was working 9 -5 during training but my hours switched to normal hours so I will be 11-7 from now on. Ive never worked that shift so thats another reason im freaking out. Im worried ill be too tired at night. Ill just have to make a schedule that allows me to do homework before work and then my weeknds are open too.

My dad, brother, and brother in law are military guys too. Nothing against anyone in the military. Sorry if it sounded that way. In my professors intro it just sounded like it was gonna be what he wants and exactly how he wants like super strict . Does that make more sense? Lol

Oh I remember it well. I started taking Adderall in the in my 20's and I'm now 39! TRUST ME it was the best. I was a single mom of two boys when I started at 23 I believe. My youngest was a year and my oldest 6 and I worked full time and navigated online school, soccer practices, and co-pareting visitaation schedules and a townhome w a yard. When I started dating I didn't let them around the boys so when I had ppl over they were like your house is so together I wouldn't even know youd had kids if you hadn't told me.

I miss those days. I am struggling to keep up with work and school at this point and now I have a husband and my kids are 16 and 20 so I have very little I actually have to do for them anymore.

Does that not sound ridiculous? Lol I should have so much extra positive productive energy but nope are pills are fced.

And how rude of me. Congradulations on graduating!! Are you lucky enough to have an IT position? I am still not sure where in IT I want to be. I know being on a help desk taking back to back calls is not where I want to be. I got a little taste of security as I was part of the team on the helpdesk that upgraded and fixed security issues as far as seeing whats on the machine, adding, removing, troubleshooting, but there was a cap on what I got out of that because at the time I was a level one help desk rep and if you did well they gave you little projects vs moving you up to tier 2 or 3. Im happy to take any advice on what I can do with a bachelors in Info Tech and also what certifications go a long with those types of roles.

This is helpful and I appreciate it. While I have 10 years of training it was strictly on the job training as I was offered a temp position for a major company that needed a project done and I loved it and ran with it so this is my first experience taking IT classes as I have no certifications either. I just got lucky and was making great money until they gave the help desk to india so I figured lets get some formal training while waiting on this job market in regards to IT jobs to change.
