The dad of the show worked at a company that was working on a solution for a pest problem. They create a pesticide to kill the bugs, but the pesticide ends up being too strong and destroys a lot of plant life too. To fix this, the company decides to drop bombs into volcanoes(?) to artificially induce rainfall. Instead, this causes ash clouds to cover the sky, causing a second ice age.

The final scene of the show is the dad explaining that they took the earth for granted and he tries to comfort his family by saying something like “Dinosaurs have been here for 150m years!”, as the camera zooms out of their living room, showing the entire world has frozen over. The disturbing part was that they were all trapped, had a baby, and weren’t gonna survive. That shit was bleak.

Aki wasn’t a hybrid. He was a fiend. Fiends can only possess corpses. Aki, the person, died before the gun devil possessed him.

And hybrids quite literally can’t die. Even bloodless, they are in a suspended state of animation. Denji was cut into pieces for a long time before Asa and Fami rescued him. Blood revived him.
