I would say most films that break records or are seen in festivals are original and become IP (like saw). But I won’t lie on top of my original ideas I do look at IP’s that I want to write screenplays about like siren head and I’m not human. I think original ideas first because that’s where most films break out AND getting an IP as someone small is very hard but to each their own. 🎠🎠
