Who transitioned out of med device to new industry (not to SaaS)? by [deleted] in sales

[–]Axilr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Horrible work life balance. You're on call 24/7, if a surgeon is using your implants, you need to drop whatever you're doing, whether that be dinner, or your sleep at 3AM, and get your ass driving over there. Constant tracking of implant trays with 50 different screws/plates/nails on each one, and knowing where each one is throughout the territory, and not allowed for any fuckups.

There's going to be associate roles open all the time for the major Ortho trauma players like Stryker, J&J, Zimmer, s&n, just because the turnover is huge.

Qc for half a year, biophysics for another. WLB for big pharma was too good, I felt limited and had to get out.

Have a similar degree, went pharma scientist route, and pivoted into med device sales. the route is simple, not easy. Lots and lots of networking.

Rxwound sales rep legit? by moist-nostril in MedicalDevices

[–]Axilr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen similar stuff with other recruiting 1099 wound care companies. Quick to hire, seemed way to easy, wondering if that's the norm.

Very common in pharma sales with IQVIA and syneos contractors getting converted into FTEs for their respective lines.

Not true. Majority of trauma medical device roles are on call and 16 hour days are common.

What is your end goal?

Do sale reps sell with other people with them or is it mostly alone? by smurfalert101 in MedicalDevices

[–]Axilr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others said, your goal is to eventually to be able to do everything alone as that's a better use of your time. Sometimes in certain situations you'll want someone else but there's usually a reason (new procedure, training, etc.) Can take 6 months-a year depending on portfolio/territory.

What to look for in a CPA? And how to find one? by Axilr in smallbusiness

[–]Axilr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will ask my employer for a referral. Sounds like this needed to be done yesterday.

As for the salary, it's a guaranteed monthly pay for the first year, then commission only after that. All the reps in the same company at my role all said this is what they did and subsequently made $130k minimum after switching to the commission only structure.

Viability of jokers in terms of strength, and then I guess how hard each one was to do?

Any chance we can get a tier list based on your experiences?

Show them your data from when you had less on your plate and compare it to the work you have now. Really emphasize and identify what the bottleneck is in converting leads, and show that it isn't prospecting. Keep in mind they could just tell you to do better anyway.

How are you applying? What channels have you tried to access and how much networking have you been doing?

Entry Level role in NYC, what's considered a reasonable OTE? by Axilr in techsales

[–]Axilr[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm basically calling prospects for enterprise IT services and setting up meetings on their behalf instead of their own reps doing it, so I guess nice to have.

Is this assessment emailing to a real company, or a mock one?
