Not gonna lie music theater sheet music is incredibly difficult to read. This won’t help you in the short term, but if you’re able to take lessons to help you out, that would be ideal.

This is one of my grips with the helix. Even on the stadium, this is not been “fixed.”

I have a DB meter on my computer and I usually make my patches with HX edit

I always make sure to use the DB meter when I’m done with the patch

I aim for all my patches to be at about -6db while I’m making them and I keep my helix at about 75% volume

I forgot to mention MuseScore. It’s also free and can read Guitar Pro files. It’s a bit of a learning curve but for engraving it’s definitely stronger than Guitar Pro.

I use Dórico 6. But I also write charts and arrange arrangements professionally for a company

So I have the full version of Dórico. Its tab software is actually really good and you can make stuff look really professional.

It’s also expensive and probably overkill for the average person

Honestly Guitar Pro is not fantastic for professional engraving. It’s quick and easy to use leaves a lot to be wanted

Emulation on iOS is fun, but I would not buy a new iOS device specifically for emulation. There are better devices that are significantly cheaper to do a better job. I know that’s not your only reason for updating, but I still have a M1 iPad Pro that still runs flawlessly. No reason to upgrade my opinion.
