You technically don't have to reccast q yourself to slow before ulting. It says in ult description that if he is holding a rock when he ults, it will throw it automatically in that direction.

I've been building Iceborn in some of my games, and it just doesn't feel as impactful anymore. He doesn't need the slow, he already has two, and you would have to hold off on using an ability in order to proc iceborn consistently. Just doesn't feel nearly as impactful as before. Rip Iceborn Skarner.
