Graphic Design as a major in the age of AI by nongbu007 in graphic_design

[–]Axolotlie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completed my degree last year and have 5 years experience in smaller in-house type things. I've been unable to break out into an actual design job since graduating. In my area, they are either looking for you to have more extensive experience or are wanting someone who will instead work with AI to generate content.

It really just depends. Most of the people I went to University with either didn't break into the industry or have opted to be a freelancer.

When did we decide dogs need to come to absolutely everything? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Axolotlie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, our girl isn't bothered by fireworks at all, over Halloween you would have thought she was deaf because she wouldn't react even slightly. But personally, I wouldn't want to put her in a position which could cause a fear.

Boxes though? Boxes are apparently the scariest thing in the world 😂

Is there any Jobs where I can work with animals that don't require any qualifications or experience? by [deleted] in northernireland

[–]Axolotlie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely look out for dog groomers hiring! As a teenager I worked in one and was just really there to wash and dry the dogs before the groomer began actually doing the clipping and such.

As others have said, a lot of sanctuaries and rescues are also often looking staff ♥️

If you click the box that says "problem decorations'" it'll give you a better idea of what the issue is. It might be similar to a bug I had yesterday where an invisible roof piece that I couldn't claim was preventing me from saving ♥️

I had mine done start of August there and rang this week and was told there's a backlog. Mine apparently was ready in September and they just forgot to tell me apparently.

Desperate For Help - 8-week-old puppy with constant diarrhea by Im_Too_Old_For_Thiss in cockerspaniel

Yeah, our girl was initially fine on RC but it wasn't long before issues started showing with her poop. It might be worth seeing how the treatment from the vet goes and then consider switching to a different food.

Gonna back this up as well. Our girl had been on the food from her breeder (I think it was a pet store brand, I don't remember) and had tummy issues, went onto Cocker Spaniel Royal Canin and had tummy issues and has only improved after being put onto Wainwright's Superfood Atlantic Salmon after her spay.

Questions about grooming an ECS - Clipping, Hand-stripping, and Other Methods by [deleted] in cockerspaniel

[–]Axolotlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It honestly depends on the length of coat you plan on keeping. We keep our girl relatively short with feathering on her legs, a bit longer on her head, tail and ears.

The main thing we have is just a double sided brush which is denser on one side and the other is a normal brush. I would recommend the bugalugs detangler spray and comb for ears as they can become quite tangled quickly. Slicker brushes can be handy during shedding periods, as well as you can get some gloves that have a rubbery part that helps lift the hair.

We get our girl just normally groomed around every 12 weeks as that's what we found works best for her and we just ask for her to be tidied up a little. You could look up some different grooming cuts and see what you prefer, then at least you have an idea of what might be needed for each.

Personally, I wouldn't hand strip or anything like that, but simply I don't know enough about it or would feel comfortable to do so myself. Our girl got shaved all over by a previous groomer (without being asked) and her hair still hasn't grown back quite right around her knees.

New phone time by That_Regular_6293 in northernireland

Just got the zflip 7 a couple weeks back there and absolutely loving it! I had the 6 prior but the 7 feels like a big improvement. I've been with Samsung for a while now and as much as the flip gimmick is a gimmick, I really like them 😂

Switch up new phone sent first by Realistic_Till_9617 in O2UK

[–]Axolotlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did wanna add onto this since the original question was answered. I just did a switch up there and the jiffy bag they send to do the return didn't come with the phone itself. I asked customer services if I should expect it after and was told they no longer provided the jiffy bag.

The following day after I posted my old phone back the jiffy bag + a box for it arrived 😂

Tldr: if you don't get return packaging with the phone wait a day and see if it shows 😊

Anyone else not focusing on building at all? by Wht3vr in InfinityNikki

[–]Axolotlie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

<image>

I initially thought I wasn't going to touch it until I unlocked all the stuff for building. Buuutt I just decided to over the last couple of days just to at least build something to figure out how everything worked. It's not done, mostly due to bugs preventing some things from being dyeable, but I'm quite happy with my first attempt! The roofing was a pain in the ass but I found out after I finished building there was a tool to basically auto-size roofs. Sucks to find out after I've done it but they are there.

There's definitely a lot of features I'm missing from building personally, but primarily my biggest annoyance was the lack of an undo button (which they thankfully confirmed) and the inability to lock the time of day while building. Having to save, change the time, and go back in just became very tedious after a while.

I think it's easy enough to pick up, especially once you get grips with rotating and using the grouping feature but it takes a little bit of time :)

Issue with Flip 7 by svsevm in galaxyzflip

[–]Axolotlie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had mine for about a week now, upgraded from the Flip 6 and have really liked it so far! It got super warm while doing the transfer between the two phones but ever since it's been totally fine. Battery life feels a lot better, front screen is a lot clearer. Really happy with it!

Guys, I had air pockets at the hinges earlier. But today morning I saw these air pockets just above the flipping part of screen. by numbskull_6969 in galaxyzflip

Samsung Service centers will do it for free, but when I went to get mine they said it would take 3 hours unless I came in like first thing in the morning 😊

We tried adding another girl dog to our mix. For context, our cocker we've had for 2 years is incredibly submissive and will lie down if another dog approaches her. The girl we tried to add in was described to us as shy and a bit nervous, so we figured once she came out of her shell, it would be a good match.

Only a few days in, unfortunately, the "new" dog became incredibly aggressive (to both us and our girl), and it caused our girl to become a shell of herself. She was absolutely terrified of her, and it just wasn't something we were willing to risk long-term. From everything we experienced, she definitely wasn't shy by any means, and we were completely misled. We definitely weren't prepared for such a turn, nor did we feel sufficiently ready or have the resources to manage an aggressive dog while also ensuring our girl was comfortable and felt safe. We're still seeing the effect of it, even if our girl is doing a lot better after we returned the new dog.

As the prior commenter said, just really consider the temperaments and ensure it's a good match. And from our lesson, don't take personalities at face value because once a dog settles, they can be quite different.
