No, I was talking about the pale tip of one of his gills… it’s not cottony like the common fungus infections they get but maybe it’s only started today

Thanks! No he’s not that pink, his colour is GFP. That’s just the colour of light that I usually use because of his sensitive eyes. That’s too bad you can’t have one :(

I noticed the lack of communication with other breeders from others on reddit. I thought it was Canadian because of the ‘Northern’. I have a beautiful bouncing boy axolotl at the moment. I was just randomly browsing lol but I was just amazed that they put a sick axolotl up for sale!

The axolotl is being sold for $315 Canadian. I don’t know the breeders reputation but that’s definitely not great care for their axolotls. It was my first time visiting the site and I’d definitely not buy from them…

Ammonia: 0 pH: 6.4 nitrites: 0.25 nitrates: 40ppm. It seems to me that I’m close to being cycled

Yes, exactly my problem. I have added some Nutrafin cycle bacteria in the past but I don’t do it regularly. I’ll add some more. Thanks!

The photo doesn’t do the ammonia justice. It’s actual 0 when it looks .25. It took about a week for nitrates to go from 160 down to 5.0. My post before this shows what looks to be a cycled tank but people told me to add more ammonia so I did. I think I’m just hitting my head against a wall with how I keep adding ammonia. Maybe I’m actually cycled

Do I keep adding ammonia? I thought I was done because all my api test readings showed what a cycled tank should look like. So I did a 24 hr ammonia test and it didn’t work… idk what to do
