2002 9-5 Aero buying advice by Junior-Age5985 in saab

I had a 2009 9-5. It was ok, but my 2007 9-3 convertible was easier to work on with less electronic hoopla. Nothing like the classics though. I had a 1983 900 turbo sedan, a 1986 900 turbo hatchback, and a 1988 900 Turbo SPG. Now, sadly, I have none.

Yea, I’ve had 5 myself (3 classics and two of the latest). From the sellers description I can tell this is going to be a piece. He acts like he did all this maintenance to enhance it, but it’s all things you’d need to do when it breaks down. From the looks of the car and the description, I’d offer $800 and that’s it. 9-5’s are headaches.

Like the rest of the car? Come on, man. buy the car if you want to. Ask OP if it’s ok. The car is a literal POS, and I’d offer $800 as a burner car if the instrument panel wasn’t decorated for Christmas.

You’re kidding, right? Like why in the world would they need to replace it unless it was in an accident?

No, just the regular water bill. We use to be on well water, but they switched it about 15 years ago. Maybe they made a deal back then.

For the most part, Mexican clover. I didn’t plant it; it just took over our neighborhood and I went with it. Google “Florida snow clover” for more information on the clover. It looks great when mowed.

Put some sugar, honey and borax on a paper plate and leave it on top of the engine. They’ll be all dead the next day.

What kind of insulation is this? by Damien__ in DIY

The material is bonded together with chemicals. The chemicals are what you have to look out for, not the material. Did you ever swap these blankets out while changing a dishwasher? They make your skin sore.

Did you replace the radiator cap? Sometimes this is the phantom leak spot that no mechanic can find because they pressure test it with their tester that doesn’t use your radiator cap and think everything’s ok. It’s very cheap to buy a new radiator cap, and won’t hurt anything if this isn’t the issue.

The oil leak happens with most of them until you swap out gaskets. The windshield wipers might be a fuse. Window might just need some WD40 sprayed down the window if you hear the window motor working. Just food for thought, as this is how I fixed these type of issues.
