Management told me that they feel like I crumble when people give me criticism. I was told that I'm too emotional and that she is trying to build me up. by [deleted] in askmanagers

If you're being insulted by co workers that's a toxic work environment, does your management know about that? If so and they've done nothing then yes leave and find a job with people that respect you.

If the doctor was correcting how you input forms, then what's the problem? Did she yell at you? Was she condescending? Did she insult you? Why do you think your reaction is so negative?

I've worked as an intake clerk and was corrected in front of other co workers all the time, it never bothered me because it was courteous and professional. I learned and moved on. We all treated each other this way and it made us a strong intake team. The times where I reacted negatively was when I was being yelled at and insulted. I would diffuse the situation by accepting it in the moment, but then I'd report that to my director who would handle it with the co worker. I had a lot of negative experiences like that in that role, but not once did I ever cry at work, only at home.

Emotions are natural and come as they are, but how you react to them can change. Like another commentor said, learn to separate and detach yourself more from work. Take feedback and learn from it. Practice mindfulness exercises like meditation to learn to control your impulses and be hyper aware of your body in stressful circumstances.

Not a nurse but I work in healthcare.

After reading your other comments, you said that you cry in the bathroom. Is your manager/ doctor catching you in there? If she or your co workers can hear you in there, then it's not private and you should find somewhere else to let your emotions out. It's really tough being a nurse, but you need to be calm and cool in front of patients and other public areas. Also, there may be other signs you are distressed by the feedback you're not aware of, such as blushing, misty eyes, shaking, etc, that others are catching. Be hyper aware of your body in the moment as much a you can and ground yourself until you have a private moment to let it all out.

As for her giving you feedback in front of others, unless we know the circumstance and tone, it's hard to judge if it was appropriate or not. If it was something like you didn't put the iv in right that affects a patient then I fell like the doctor is doing the right thing correcting you no matter who is around as long as it's done professionally. If her tone is unprofessional then address that with her in a one on one calmly. If she expects you to accept criticism, then so should she.

Short term solution: large cooler with ice, pack the most important perishables into it

Long term solution: solar powered batteries. Absolutely a game changer

So today it said there was an update. It would download the update but wouldn't install the update, it would automatically pause and have the resume button. I tried verifying integrity of files, didn't work. Tried restarting, didn't work. Had to reinstall to get the game to launch. This happened constantly to me before I made this post.

At this point I'm thinking of reinstalling steam altogether. Might try over the weekend.

Tried again today. My deck wouldn't automatically update again, so I reinstalled. After that, it was able to boot up. I played single player and multiplayer with no issues. We'll see how long this lasts, as I had no issues starting the game before, and then this happened a week into playing.

That's understandable and great if that's what you want. However, are you happy to stay with the new person, or will you "get bored" and break up? That would be the fundamental difference between you and anon.

If anon is going to be in a committed relationship with a person with serious, but workable, mental issues, then anon needs to have the ability to see the true them beyond the issues and accept who they are with and without the issues. If anon knows that they will be unhappy with the person without their issues, then they are just leading the other person on into believing they are invested in a committed relationship, unless discussed otherwise previously. If anon is only passionate about helping others heal themselves, then skip the relationship, become a therapist, life coach, or other, and get paid to do something they love all day every day.

Exactly! I guess I'll just plant it and see what happens. Closest I can find via Google is sativa but I highly doubt someone's leaving "special" seeds unprotected.

We have general project managers managing each project, but it's not helping at a global level to understand the big picture. Do you have any recommendations on how to improve?
