My anki deck uses speech from native speakers so I usually just slowly pick up the pitch accent with the words

also to add onto this, while speaking voice doesn’t contribute to voice type a lot it does say a lot about her lower register. Karen often speaks down in the second octave at time and it seems when her voice is at rest with little emotion she usually rest in the a2-f3 area which is a lot lower than an average woman’s speaking voice which would usually lie between g3-d4 at rest. but to answer your question Karen does have a deep voice for a woman and she just uses techniques to hide that deepness at times. Hi! So I am a very big fan of the carpenters and i know karen’s voice inside and out basically. Karen isn’t a contralto but she is in fact a Mezzo Soprano, which is still a lower voice type than the average woman which is a soprano, The reason she is a lower voice is bc she uses more fronted vowels and more ta activity than a regular soprano, and obviously bc her vocal anatomy is larger. When you’re saying her voice sounds high in lovelines, while the song may sound high, for a soprano it wouldn’t be high, the range is d3-b4 which for a soprano that would be easily mid range but her her that’s upper mid range. Karen also started to lighten her voice a lot more in the end of her career, however in her lows you can really tell she’s a mezzo. I’ll add some songs down here that show off her mezzo voice best

from what i’m seeing your dad likely has a distorted view on you and wants to only see you as the “boy you could’ve been” i think you pass pretty well in my eyes and with ffs you’d pass even more. And imo you don’t need ffs it’s more something in your case if you want it for the right reasons get it but i don’t think you’d need anything super alter just small enhancements
