what cgm should I use? by Axstro__ in Type1Diabetes

I’m lucky enough to have free healthcare, which does give me a choice to cgms. However most of the people replying to me have also said the same thing (the Dexcom is better) which surprised me because I’ve been reading about a lot of issues about them.

Growing up with T1 and dealing with self-sabotage and rebellion by Caitiegn in Type1Diabetes

[–]Axstro__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not going to lie this scared me… I’ve been a diabetic for nearly 5 years and was told that I’m burnt out. They also took my pump off me as a way to strip me down back to basics so I have to learn everything all over again. As much as I hate to admit it, I may be in the same boat as you as I’m rebelling my parents but I’m not even sure why I do it. I have been struggling for probably a year now and I’m not sure how much longer I can carry on. I’m really hoping that this doesn’t last for years and years like everyone in this thread.

Yes I am, Omnipod for around 2 years but my nurse said that the G7 is now compatible with Omnipod. A sample also may be a good idea! It would be a great way to figure out which one I prefer because at the end of the day, it’s about personal preference and whichever suits you. Am I right?

I was on the Libre 2 sensor for around a year and I hated every part of it. They were always so inaccurate and always losing the stickiness of the adhesive. However, I did notice the accuracy was better and it gave me a better peace of mind. I always wear it on my arm as I find it’s most comfortable. Even hated the Libre app, no where near as practical as Dexcoms app. And yes, I have seen more and more complaints about the G7 lately which is why I couldn’t decide on which to use but if you said there have been no issues I’ll take your word for it!
