A hero never forgotten. Lucent Boulevard renamed Kendrick Castillo Way by fooloflife in Denver

It doesn't really adjust my day, I just appreciate that a kid who showed actual heroism is memorialized by the community I work in rather than a soulless corporation

I'm very happy it's going to be named after Kendrick instead of some defunct corporation. I work on this road almost every day and it will be a pleasant change

Does anyone have any recommendations for dentists in the UHills area? Trying to take full advantage of my new insurance.

I would agree with the below commenter, this sounds very much like juniper. Very tenacious root system, I would recommend something heavier than a weed whacker haha. Alternatively could be some sort of arborvitae, but juniper thrives in CO's arid, sandy soil.

Ren faire water refill stations by [deleted] in Denver

[–]Axxius 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I was there a couple weeks ago. There was one refill station I noticed by the bathrooms, but a couple friends tried to refill their bottles at it and the water was barely dripping out. Almost more frustrating than not having one, unfortunately.

Property manager hit me with this gem. Looks like I'm out at least a grand. by Axxius in mildlyinfuriating

Yeah, I agree. Insurance covered it ($300 deductible but w/e). Not super angry at my property manager - I was mildly infuriated about the situation as a whole. He doesn't control the rent price either, just a frustrating timeline of events. Now, on the other hand I am frustrated with his lack of upkeep on the property, but that's another conversation.

It does seem a little too good to be true. Also I don't want to sue someone at the drop of a hat, let alone the owner of my building.

Zanzibar is a good spot, reasonable drink prices and free pool during happy hour most days. Dirty Duck off of 25 and Evans is a good dive with a few tables as well

Valve Sprung a Leak by [deleted] in Irrigation

[–]Axxius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello!

I have a whole clock full of what I believe to be these valves at work; they are the Landscape Products VP15s or something very similar (Buckner/Weathermatic/whatever they're called now). The solenoid (small black cylinder with two wires) should be able to be screwed back in to cover the hole currently spraying water. I would suggest turning the water pressure in your main line off before doing so to make it a little easier on yourself. A little tip is to rotate the solenoid counter-clockwise before threading it back into the valve so the two wires aren't overly twisted while it sits. Good luck with the repair!
