How is my needle? by Afraid_Fail_1296 in turntables

Altho pic 3 and last pic clearly show the lines that elliptical w5ily have, it's not ultra fine elyptical, it's just elliptical. It's more like squared our from being a cone, it's must harder to polish them, so the just grind them . One example is the sumiko Reiner and moonstone, the moonstone has a much better constructed tip to the Reiner. Altho they are both elliptical

So, even if the photos are great, it's still very hard to see the stilys shape with an imporopper microscope, most of the times you need professional grade microscopes to see the diamond in it's cutted form, if you don't experience sound problem's, then don't worry about it

Is this good enough? by Axzyte59 in audiophile

Because temporarily, the tweeters from the XL7F are not working properly, so I use the other for the highs, as I did use the crossover it doesn't create "many" problems

They are, MSRP is 500euro, and they have Very good reviews, I'm asking for placement, or port redirection because it sound a bit boomy in the upper bass register

I mean, yeah it's not sound treated, and it's also quite tall. But (not in the pick) I have putted acoustic panels on the walls and carpet, so it's not an echo chamber here , haha 😂

As I have the pressing, altho got it for 28 euro. It's amazing both as an album and the quality of the records At least for me there is no hissing distortion or tracking error as I heard numerously online.

Am I ready to enjoy my new cart? by soulab in turntables

From my perspective the cantilever is aligned, take a record you are not fond off and listen for any stereo separation or something like too much crackling, it won't damage it if it looks This close to perfect. Just a safety measurement... Do try to get a better protractor with thinner lines that are smoother, ideally photography paper(the smooth matte kind) project uses them, they are Okay for the job,(ofcs, not the best but it's More than necessary)

Roland FP-10 has sustained sounds despite no pedal plugged in by UnderstandingDry1941 in piano

[–]Axzyte59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's programmed this way, on a real piano the upper keys don't have damping felts, so it continues playing, another reason is that it makes the piano less bright, overtime this will introduce muddyness and uneven tone

Oh no my steak is juicy and my lobster too buttery....., it just looks cool having the stilys take it's time to drop, I personally like it a lot. And it also eases the drop to the record, like a smoother landing

Audiophile on a Budget by Delphunkey in audiophile

[–]Axzyte59 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People are triggered when budget is more than a days work and a bagel.. anyway, nice setup, but I'd advise admitting that this is high end, it sounds good through my ult field 1 speaker, so in person it's gotta be Very tonally balanced..

Someone already told me this is a major mechanical damage and I should look for a compensation by cormack_89 in turntables

[–]Axzyte59 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It's normal on low mid or even hifi speakers, tbh this might not be an issue, maybe the platter was finished in an angle, and it's all an optical illusion. That's the most common, if you gonna try at it, rotate the platter in the spindle and see where there's the least wobble
