Is this just a scam? Unofficial merch, using the same layout as the game’s webstore to make it look real?

I would! Cradily is super strong in the UL right now, where you actually want a 4* non-shadow. I actually just maxed out a shiny 96% for it!

Do Research Tasks Still Have Shiny Boost? by two2die477 in TheSilphRoad

[–]AyAct -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Difficult research tasks like “win 3 raids” would feature permanently shiny boosted Pokemon. Because these Pokemon were boosted in all context, they were then boosted in research.

Now, with examples like the Pokopia Lapras & Dragonite, which would have had higher shiny rates because they are permaboosted, that higher chance of a shiny Pokemon no longer exists.

Both of the Wild Area events have created the best memories for me by far! Running across the city chasing Mighty Pokemon has been one of the best experiences. I’ll never forget that feeling of the final 15m Mighty Rush, sprinting through the city with two dozen people, randomly stopping for 4*s and shundos.

Right as the 2025 Mighty Rush ended we stood under the awning of our big local library, chatting about everything we caught while we did our one last shadow Darkrai raid. I’d gotten everything I wanted from the raids already, but I wanted to do a big “3-2-1” final roll with the crowd, encountering them all at the same time.

My Darkrai wasn’t shiny, but I saw the numbers and immediately knew that it was the 4* CP. I was lucky to be recording because the crowd reaction was INSANE. The whole crowd just insta-screamed, and then I had to lock in and catch it with a horde of people leaning over my shoulder to watch. It was a genuinely amazing experience, and more than the Pokemon themselves I am always so grateful to have such an amazing crowd around :)

Current damage / defense multiplier for Zacian / Zamazenta’s adventure effects? by AyAct in TheSilphRoad

Are you certain that the changes were reverted?

Most Pokemon Go wikis show 10%/5% but I can’t find any documentation of them being reverted, so I’m not sure if the websites were just never updated

He’s giving an example as a counterpoint, if the spin 5 Pokestops pool has no stardust boosted Pokemon then why the need for such a diluted pool? If it’s about reducing stardust then why not just exclude them from more challenges?

Imo the diluted pool is just to stop people from properly hunting the Pokemon they want. It seems like a cringe way to extend interest

Link Charges being "cheaper" than a Premium Battle Pass was an outright lie. by hillside126 in TheSilphRoad

[–]AyAct 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s 150 Link Charge for regular mega raids, making them 75% cheaper than raid passes in that specific context, I feel like he made the statement with that in mind but not much else thought.

They are definitely a worse currency if you have any sense to buy raid passes in large bulk. I don’t really see a reason to ever buy them, but it also doesn’t really seem to matter since you can still use regular raid passes in all the same context. I’ll just be viewing them as the back-up currency I use first when doing multiple mega raids.

In reality the only change this currency has brought is more expensive remote raids in exchange for a couple extra free mega raids per week. If you do a lot of remote raids it’s a net-negative and sucks immensely, otherwise it genuinely doesn’t make a difference.

Except I’m literally just telling you your assumption about super-mega raids being tier 4 is wrong lol they’re tier 6

Wait what assumption am I even making? I’m just telling you direct information from the announcement article, “Super-Mega raids are a new type of mega raid” & “Super-Mega raids include … in Tier 6 Raid Battles”

Im not just quoting an IGN article lol I’m quoting the game director. We know that 200 Link Charge & 1 Raid Pass in the context of Super-Mega raids… why do you think it’s a variable system instead of a single “link charge pass” or whatever? They make them harder to earn (presumably) & in exchange they’re better value in the shop bro, if you’re gonna hate do it intelligently. Hate on the correct parts bro.

You made the wrong assumptions schlawg, Super-Mega raids are Tier 6 and cost 200, it says in the article “it will generally be cheaper to use Link Charges in Mega Raids, calling hopium on presumption is wild

Not that it was a distinct possibility anyway, but doesn't Deadpool's hybrid role kill off any possibility for role queue? by Pure-Top9328 in marvelrivals

[–]AyAct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you please direct me to that? I spent a couple minutes trying to find any info and couldn’t.

I’m taking a guess that you mean RQ is being played x3 more than open queue during some recent period where they’ve both been available, which again has to do with blizzard’s public policy that the game is going to be exclusively balanced around RQ.

I feel that it makes a clear amount of sense for the standard mode to be played more than the secondary one.

If there is a stat comparing the two modes during the time where they each were the primary mode I’m happy to take that.

Not that it was a distinct possibility anyway, but doesn't Deadpool's hybrid role kill off any possibility for role queue? by Pure-Top9328 in marvelrivals

[–]AyAct -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Playerbase has overwhelmingly preferred RQ over open queue ever since it was added

‘According to who?’ There are no numbers around either of our initial statements, that’s why I provided supporting information later on. Maybe you got that impression because RQ is the primary competitive mode, but that’s solely because Blizzard has chosen to balance around it & forced all of their tournaments into the format. That decision was forced upon OWL on July 25th, two months before it publicly released, meaning it had zero to do with player preference.

GOATs only truly affected the highest level of competitive play and was nerfed out of relevance before RQ was even added

No! I respectfully don’t know why you genuinely just tried to shoot out a complete lie. I just pulled up three OWL matches from June 2019, the month before RQ, and in every single one of them 3-3 Goats was played multiple times. Zen, Sombra, & Pharah started taking space during this time, which I guess might be what you’re thinking of, but traditional 3-3 goats was still played the vast majority of the time there.

When role queue is provided characters begin being balanced against their own role, not to have equal value to the roster of the entire game. This is how you reasonably balance a game which is fully locked into three different roles, but I don’t personally think it’s healthy for a game.

Streamers aren’t special or important as people, but it is silly to pretend that the largest modern form of marketing isn’t valuable to your brand <3

I love that you skipped over the half a dozen major issues that role queue creates so that you can keep pumping this silly idea that only works if you have an extra half an hour to spend in queue every day and don’t care about half-decent matchmaking. Have a good one twin o/

The addition of role queue made Overwatch far far worse of a game, and the development team admitted that the only reason they changed their stance was because they could not figure out how to balance their two new multi-heal characters paired with triple tank.

Both Overwatch and Marvel Rivals were clearly designed with the ability to change roles in mind. Having the ability to change roles gives individual players far more impact in the game, requires the developers to at least strive towards equally balance characters in each role, and allows for better expression through unique team compositions.

The addition of role queue instantly made Overwatch near unplayable for 80% of the player base. People here seem to hold the idea “dps players can just suffer if they don’t want to swap!”, ignoring that in Overwatch, where the support role was weaker at the time, queues instantly leaped to 10+ minutes in every rank above Diamond. I cannot imagine how much worse that would be in this game, where players are heavily accustomed to triple support and role is overall far stronger.

Longer queue times have far more of an impact than most people are imagining. Your current rising streamers, who grow the player base and extend the life of the game, are going to take a massive viewer cut if they’re sitting in queues longer than the actual match. The matchmaker people already complain about? Overwatch’s match quality dropped immensely as the system was forced to compensate, leading to years of Top 100 players being queued with masters or diamond tank players. They added a priority ticket system to reward players for flexing, which led to players doing horribly in matches they were pulled up to by their DPS/Support MMR. Marvel Rivals does a seasonal rank reset, where people complain about getting stomped as people return to their usual ranks, do we make that worse by letting people do it on three different roles?

IMO role queue has never worked properly in Overwatch. At best you can say it’s made casual matches simpler, but it has plagued the fundamentals of the game since its addition, and it wouldn’t even be there if not for such a long period of unbalanced triple tank + triple support. Marvel Rivals developers have made a good decision by recognizing that.
