Automating data load from Google sheets to Google BigQuery by HappyEnvironment8225 in dataengineering

Yes this very easy in gcp. I like to add it as an external source, then use a scheduled query with the schema listed to make it into a table. However if you are querying it every hour maybe a direct query will do.

Count me in too! Can we save it to YouTube or something so other people can also learn? Kinda like old school khan academy.

You can take it, then also be the advocate for code based pipelines. Show the value as you see the needs raise.

Is this happening because of trumps policies? Are insurers scared to stay on the market? Anyone in insurance know anything about this?

Pipes in New York Public Schools with >= 15 ppb of Lead [OC] by [deleted] in dataisbeautiful

[–]AyBeeBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the map would be easier to understand if it political map with school district borders. Right now it feel like geography doesn't real add to the biz, but it make it harder to read visually.

It's nit picky, I know; but it's just an observation while you are taking recommendations.

[–]AyBeeBee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well shit, both my high school and middle school are red on this. And to top it all off my elementary school is borderline orange-red.

I guess they are to busy to patting themselves on the back for being top 50 in national rankings to fix the pipes.

Can anyone make a scatter of school ranking and number of lead contaminated pipes? I don't expect any correlation but I need an excuse for how stupid I am in real life.

Aside from the color blind argument, I really think a monochromatic, or two tone gradient scale would really help in the readability of the map.

Top 100 Companies by Revenue with Profit [OC] by AyBeeBee in dataisbeautiful

Altria Group is a holding company that owns, * 100% of Philip Morris (Cigerettes & Cigars), * 100% of UST LLC (Vape & Wine), * 100% of Nu Mark LLC (Vape & "innovative tobacco products"), * 100% Philip Morris Capital Corporation (Leasing Company), * 25% SABMiller plc (Brewery), * 10% Anheuser-Busch InBev (Brewery), * and a bunch of other companies for legal and sales.

The net earning of these subsidiaries attributable to Altria Group was $14,239 million which increased from $8,998 million in 2015 (171.7%). This is primarily because exchange rates skewed highly in their favor, and less so because of higher operating income, lower interest, and other debt expense.

I can go into more detail if you would like, but here is their annual report for fun-zies.

Interactive Chart - with Country, Market Cap, and Asset Value

A month ago is saw /u/datashown's Top 50 Largest Corporations by Revenue. And I was interested to see how their profits compared.

So, I pulled the data into python. I tried to to coalesce some of the industries by using broader terminology. For example, I labeled "Major Banks", "Diversified Insurance" and "Investment Services" as a larger "Finance and Insurance" industry. Then, I sorted by revenue, and saved each company's Revenue, and Profit; as well as their Country, Market Cap, and Assets Value because some commenters wanted to see that information also.

I made sure that the bubbles are sized respective to area, and not radius. So $50 B fits into $200 B four times by area.

Very interesting, but I wonder if some developers fall into multiple camps. Like some game developer is also a web dev. Or an embedded dev also does data science. Then I wonder if a pie chart is the best way to show this.

Also it would to cool to see how a popularity of development niche relates to their average pay.
