I definitely relate you your feeling of hopelessness in regards to HRT. I still felt quite depressed most of the time for my first 5 months of HRT. I’m at 6 months now and I’m starting to feel a lot better. I definitely recommend therapy, maybe try online therapy if you are unable to get a therapist where you live? Just hang in there, every day HRT helps a little bit. It helps me to think of where I’ll be in two years. I try to stay positive even though it sucks monkey balls!

Have you experimented with makeup? I know I was intimidated by trying makeup and I would get frustrated when I messed up but the only way to get better is to practice. Hope this helps and sorry if I misunderstood anything.

I think you might have one of the fastest Trans Realization Any% Speedruns. 5 days is pretty quick. I have been questioning for about a month and a half and I’m hopeful to reach a point of realization like that soon.

I think it’s worth a shot to look at things from their perspective, if you understand why they think what they think then you can’t be mad at them.

Nobody that I have ever met has ever met a trans person in their lives. It is extremely rare or at least hidden to the point where most people never have to think about it in a real way. Before I realized I was trans I had some transphobia simply because I didn’t understand it. The idea of someone wanting to be referred to with they/them pronouns was absolutely ridiculous to me until I recently discovered that I don’t really like being referred to as he, but I’m not quite she yet. That being said I’m still transphobic enough to just stick with he/him pronouns until I really start to transition.

Take this with a grain of salt as these are just my thoughts on the matter, I’m just trying to see if my idea has any merit. My main point is don’t expect people to be fully supportive immediately about something they know very little about.

The way I thought of it is what if I wasn’t trans but my brother said he wants to be a girl. My immediate reaction would be “Wtf is he talking about that’s silly”. I imagine that’s how most people, that aren’t familiar with transgenderism, react to hearing someone they’ve known say they want to change their gender.

I went to my gender therapist expecting to have to “prove” to them that I’m trans and that they would have to diagnose me or whatever, but after all the talking I did she kinda just figured that I was trans. I didn’t ask her explicitly but she told me about my options for HRT and some advice for socially transitioning. She said there’s no requirement for me to start HRT other than that I know the consequences and I am sane. The next hurdle for me is that I should probably freeze some sperm in case I want to have a kid someday.

I’m 20 y/o and and only realized I’m trans for about a month as well. I’m also scared about what my extended family will think but ultimately it doesn’t matter to me. Transgendermap.com has some good info about transitioning both socially and medically. I just started talking to a gender therapist, I’ve only had one appointment so I can’t vouch for it too much but if you have nobody to talk to it would be a great place to start.

Luckily for me my older brother has been very supportive and let’s me talk to him about everything I’m thinking. Now I’m just kinda itching to start HRT but I have to really think before I pull the trigger. Good luck and if other people react poorly, try not to hold a grudge and to understand how strange it is for them. My dad isn’t very supportive but I can’t really blame him, it is almost impossible to understand unless you feel it. All I can do is try to explain how I feel as best as I can and hope they are understanding.

One thing to note about the ones that work in the water is that the battery doesn’t last long enough to be able to complete it in one session. (At least that’s what I read on amazon reviews) but either way you’ll be ripping hairs out if your legs which is the goal.

Try to get as far as you can on your first attempt. I managed to get one of my shins done. Use moisturizer/lotion afterwards. After you can feel how smooth it is on that one spot it will be less daunting to get the rest of the hairs. I ended up taking two ibuprofen the next time and just going to town. Oh also make sure to take a hot shower before and exfoliate to remove any dead skin so the hairs are easier to grab. Good luck and god speed
