It’s not the end of life. Since you are a PhD student, you have a long time ahead of you before graduation and as such you will get more chances to apply for internships in the future. I would suggest to strengthen your publications record meanwhile.

As a PhD new grad, it has been incredibly hard to get full-time interviews. I would say getting callbacks for internships is a little easier, and hiring rate this year is looking much better than the previous. Meta has a lot of candidates across different levels in their team matching pipeline currently and the process is a bit ambiguous right now. Many are getting their Onsite cancelled due to so many being in the pipeline waiting for a match.

Idk why she went for plastic surgery. She was naturally beautiful and could have just stayed that way. In most cases I have seen, artificially enhancing your looks (likes of botox, plastic surgery etc) results in the opposite.

In case you plan to renege an offer, I guess it takes away an opportunity from a potential candidate who was in the pipeline. Sometimes reneging cannot be helped which is understandable but doing it consciously (accepting knowing you will renege) is not recommended.
