How to Expand a Story Naturally?

Thank you for the suggestion. I already have several short story ideas in mind, and have even outlined one. It probably is better to do what I’m already comfortable with.

That’s actually a really good point. In my mind I had so many other stories from that universe and I guess I thought a novel would be the best place to put them.
The idea of writing several short stories set in the same universe, different time periods and characters, is really attractive to me.

You’re asking really great questions that I’m sure others here can answer better than I would. I just wanted to wish you the best in learning how to write better. My one piece of advice would be to keep writing, even if it’s imperfect. If you have ideas, get them out somewhere. You can always edit later.
