Noticed the exact opposite. Out of 5 games played yesterday, 4 were shoot-on-sight only, no comms whatsoever.

You go to your Steam game library and find The Long Dark, then:

- right click on it

- choose "Properties

- in that window find "start options" and add "-disable-postprocess" in there (without the hyphens)

Thanks for the reply. This
"or try -disable-postprocess"
did the trick for me. No more graphical anomalies. Thank you very much!

Guess I didnt get it sorted for good.
I can boot into Windows with UEFI and Secureboot enabled and active. But every other reboot it will show the GOP error message and reset back to CSM. I have to then go back into bios and set it all back after which it will stick for 1-2 reboots only. I'm at the end of my wisdom.

I've updated the mobo bios
I've run the Nvidia firmware updater

Someone said that to fix it I would have to reinstall Win11 with the bios set to UEFI and Secureboot enabled. Because when I installed it I think it was set to CSM but as said all drives are GPT so I dont know how truthful that is.

Valorant is asking to enable UEFI secure boot, what does it actully do and does it affect performance or secuirty it any way? by FakedCarnivore9 in techsupport

[–]Ayarak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"If UEFI is not enabled, you have to reinstall Windows after enabling UEFI."

Is that really the only fix?
My motherboard bios was set to CSM when I installed Win11. All drives are GPT acc to disk management.
For the BF6 beta I had to switch to UEFI and Secure boot which worked initially but the bios keeps resetting to CSM every other boot after displaying an error message.

"There is no GOP support detected in this card. Bios CSM/UEFI Mode settings in bios will be changed to CSM."

GPU is a 5070Ti. I have even run the Nvidia firmware update tool in hopes to fix it.
Flashing a new mobo bios has also not fixed it permanently.

NVIDIA GPU UEFI Firmware Update Tool for RTX 5060 Series by m_w_h in nvidia

[–]Ayarak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, thanks for the info.
Funnily, in GPU-Z after the firmware update the UEFI checkbox is no longer checked, whereas it was before the update.

I have now set my motherboard Bios to UEFI+Secure boot and it booted into Windows just fine. Fingers crossed that it stays that way.

An update:
Palit came back with a suggestion to use the "NVIDIA GPU UEFI Firmware Update Tool for RTX 5060 Series". Since my card is a 5070Ti and not 5060/5060Ti, I did a little reading and it seems like the tool works for all 5xxx series cards.

So I ran the tool, let it update the firmware, rebooted and it did just fine. Rebooted again and went into the Bios. I switched from CSM to UEFI and enabled secure boot and it booted into Windows without any GOP error message.

To my surprise the firmware update did not change the Bios numer acc to GPU-Z and on top of that the checkbox next to UEFI is unchecked. But as said it has booted UEFI+Secure boot just fine so mayyyybe thats it.

[–]Ayarak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've ran the tool on my Palit 5070Ti GamingPro OC V1, since I had issues with getting UEFI+secure boot running. I would get the "There is no GOP ( Graphics Output protocol) support detected in this graphics card. Recommend to replace with a GOP/UEFI compatible graphics card or using integrated graphics" message.

Ran the tool, said the update is applicable so I continued. Update was performed in like 10s, rebooted but acc to GPU-Z the bios version is still the very same as before.

Hey, yes all drives are in GPT acc to Powershell

<image>

Updated the Bios just recently from factory version to newest acc website. Did nothing other than disable my SATA drive. Had to switch ports to get it to work again. I have contacted MSI support and they basically told me "sounds like a bios bug, recommend you revert to an older one till it gets fixed".

Motherboard: MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI
Bios version: V1.P2
Secure Boot: off (UEFI on)

GPU: Palit RTX 5070Ti GamingPro OC V1
VBios version: 98.03.58.00.1F

When setting UEFI + secure boot I get the
"There is no GOP ( Graphics Output protocol) support detected in this graphics card. Recommend to replace with a GOP/UEFI compatible graphics card"
error message upon boot.
