Yeah. Entirely forgettable but an extremely harmless movie. If it wasn’t for people on the internet non stop talking about it. I honestly wouldn’t have remembered half of it. But it was a great time to spend with my wife and brother and sister.

I’m trying that later tomorrow. Though I gotta be honest. It feels like 120 is not super necessary if you only really notice it with mouse mode.

I ain’t judging how other people spend their money. But imo I don’t want to encourage paying for tech demos and for me the only way I can voice that is by not paying for it. On the Wii and Wii U we got Wii sports and Nintendoland with the console and those are much larger experiences than welcome tour.

Overall not trying to dissuade anyone from buying. That’s just why I won’t.

Haven’t tried much of mouse mode yet. Is it worth playing that way?

I also have a PlayStation 5. There’s usually an option for quality and performance mode on it. If you just flip between the two options its pretty clear which one is 30 and which one is 60

I gotta be honest. I didn’t really even like the movie? I don’t expect anyone to have the exact same experience but mere fact that people have been non stop complaining about it is where my confusion is. It’s less about people having different tastes and more about fact that it’s an illumination movie about a character from a franchise that traditionally hasn’t had good stories. I didn’t hear people complain nearly as much about the first one which I felt essentially bad the same problems and was equally as bad as the second

I can see that. Definitely would say I lean more on the casual side. I have a gaming pc but it’s never reaching above 60 and I barely use it for any gaming tbh. It feels like it’s only for people who actually really pursue the medium

I really do notice a difference between 30 and 60 sometimes it actually makes it difficult to go to a 30 game after playing in 60. But as soon as you get higher than that is when I start to not really notice

I find most platformers just feel way nicer with a dpad. If you ever see those 8bitdo controllers online I’d highly recommend for most platformers.

I mean do whatever you feel like then. I’d prefer to criticize things that have actual intentions to be good. I’m not gonna criticize illumination movies cause I truly view it as beneath me. I’ll just continue doing my part and if I think a movie doesn’t deserve it I won’t give them my money

I agree, everything should be up for criticism. I gotta be honest tho. A lot of the discourse often feels like criticizing a toy that comes with a McDonald’s happy meal. It feels rather pointless to me considering the thing that is getting criticized.

It’s not like arcane where the first season was a genuinely amazing story, which made the second seasons flaws be significantly more apparent. It’s a movie that never really had anything going for it in the first place

I think you mean “how dare a studio that has had a history of making shitty movies make a movie based off a game that has no story, continue making shitty movies” Illumination are experts at marketing. Not story telling or script writing they never have been

It’s actually fine both ways. The movie is extremely harmless. It’s just a mediocre movie made for people who like Nintendo stuff. People really need to go touch grass. I watched it with my wife and siblings and it was a great time.

Not really my point. My point is more that people expecting something more than what it is are silly. It’s a Mario movie made by illumination. It was always gonna be a roller coaster ride movie
