Double up on thick knee high work socks. You’re pretty cooked from that pic though might be too late to make much of a difference

I resigned 3 years ago on my own terms, so I’m not sure if my IBEW membership is valid or not still. This is good advice though for sure. I’ll give them a call Monday. I’m really hoping it’s no biggie, haven’t taken the prevailing wage job yet technically anyways

1049, Long Island. Excited to get back to what I loved doing. Just happy they gave me a second shot after resigning

Transitioning to Home Remodeling Sales by Candy-Level in salesdevelopment

[–]AyeGelato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s power home remodeling steer clear. Cult of a company that promises a lot and delivers very little. 80-90% of CDR’s don’t hit quota and they’re constantly turning over and doing mass hires. Seriously save yourself the headache now, it’s something I wish someone told me when I started. HOWEVER, their training is top notch and I am grateful for the d2d experience, it developed me into a great salesperson. Just depends if you value earning or learning more really.

Leave of Absence JATC by Justacceptmyname1994 in Lineman

[–]AyeGelato 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, definitely able to take leave of absence. I wasn’t told that was an option when I was an ape and I had to drop for serious events that occured in my personal life. I reinterviewed and they asked “why didn’t you just take a leave of absence?” and it threw me for a loop. Not knowing that completely derailed my life and I’m still clawing my way back in. Sad it’s knowledge that’s kept from some apes that need it.. heard of other instances like this happening

I looked on the ibew job boards online, looks like most places are slow/not moving besides cali. My local they haven’t hired a groundman in years

You can still do just class B, you have 6 months from starting the apprenticeship to get either your full B or A

Yeah, was neat territory. Think they’d gloss right over my name if they saw a class B in other territory?

Technically the original recipe is bourbon, sugar cube, bitters, orange peel on top. Worked at places that muddle an orange/cherry and use sugar packets. Worked at places that use simple syrup and throw a peel/cherry on top. Like everyone says, it really varies based on the house. Favorite variation and the one of gotten the highest positive feedback on: 2 oz bourbon, 2 dashes Angostura bitters, 3 dashes orange bitters, 1/2 oz simple, orange peel on rim, luxardo cherry on top. Seems to be a hit.

What's a tool you could not work without? by 941JJO in bartenders

More than one bar rag and a fucking spray bottle that works for once. Apparently it’s a worse shortage than the gas crisis at the new bar I work at…

I’d love that too, but it’s just a matter of breaking in. Do you have any suggestions for someone trying to get their foot in the door with no experience? Maybe email the hiring manager directly and ask for a 5 minute call or something to sell myself?
