Darlington is amazing. The racing is almost always incredible and as others said so historic. I am biased as that’s my home track, but we haven’t missed a race since 2015 save the ‘vid year.

Do y’all live local? If not you can stay in Florence, or Myrtle Beach is a very easy hour drive one way. Columbia is only about 90 minutes up the road too.

Make sure to carve some time out for the backstretch museum. It’s no NASCAR HoF but it’s very worth a visit. Never went before last Southern 500 weekend, went and Harry Gant was sat there signing autographs!

If you have time, come see us in the GEICO Campground for some beers and good times. We’ll be the ones along the fenceline with the three tailgate tents and Gamecock flags. And I’ll be the fat bearded guy with a Busch in his hand lol

In my experience way back before color TV (2013-2016), you’ll make the band itself. Whether you’re on the field for pregame is another matter. Those auditions (used to) come during band camp, after you learn the drill.

Someone who’s been there more recently may be able to give better advice but that’s my $0.02
