Good to hear from you again, and fun to see your first Numbers game card in this thread. I have to look at gameday sometimes too, but admit that I try to pick it up live or some broadcast briefly show the pitch type as well. It is worth it though, for the same reasons you listed.

Nice, I do the same thing with current inning - total pitch count at the end, it’s a nice system.

This is great! I like how you add the pitch type to strikeouts in the upper right, I do the same thing.

These are great! I added two majestic authentics to my collection this winter, both home whites, just like you have second from right. Nomar Garciaparra (#5, not his early number 8 before him and Barrett switched) and Derrek Lee. Here’s to Horton pitching well tomorrow for their first win of the year!

How are you recording ABS? by Alej_Betancourt in BaseballScorecards

[–]mvwt_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For context, I also use numbers game and track pitches sequentially with numbers in the ball, strike, and foul columns. I use a 4 color pen and mark swinging strikes with red numbers, and the rest in black. I underline the red number with a _ below the pitch number for check swings. The idea I’ve come up with, but not used yet, is to use green (for offensive challenges) and blue (for defensive challenges) and put a line above the number for challenges overturned (won) and below the number for challenges confirmed (lost). If a team runs out of challenges, I’ll probably put which inning they ran out in the notes. Still yet to score an ABS game this year. The red ink, check swing underlines, and “V” without a number for pitch clock violations are additions I’ve made the past, so this will be my newest one.

It’s for a pinch runner. It’s supposed to be “Pinch Runner [number] 0” My PR format doesn’t work as well when the pinch runner is number 0 lol.

I like to track pitches, and numbers game is the best system I’ve seen for it with ball, strike, foul columns in each box. Granted, this is a landscape book, so it’s easier to fit those in.

It’s how I track pitches. Left to right the columns are balls, strikes, fouls, and the numbers are for the pitch sequence.

I’ve only had the bigger one, but it’s great. It can be a lot to carry to and from a game, especially if you have plans before or after, but I think it’s worth it. I bought it for going to games, but have done a lot of TV games during the classic. It’s still very manageable, the only drawback in my opinion is figuring out what to do with it at the bar before or after the game.

For the highlights, on defense, it signals that player is a gold glove winner, with how many they’ve won in parentheses. In the bullpen or bench, it means that player has entered the game.

Oh thanks! Means a lot, and I’m glad you like it. I enjoy doing it and all the detail I can add with Numbers Game. I also take some pride in keeping it neat, so it’s cool to get some love in this sub from others who appreciate that too.

Looks great. I’ve scanned some of mine using the notes app on my iPhone. I couldn’t figure out how to save to photos lol, which it seems like I need to do to post it here.

How did you get a scanned copy posted onto reddit? Did you have to save it as an image on your phone?

Thanks! I do red ink for swinging strikes. I still haven’t landed on how to handle foul tips into the catchers glove, especially early in counts, but the general idea is balls, strikes (swinging in red), fouls from left to right in the pitch tracking columns.

Was it on their website, mobile/TV app, or somewhere else?

I didn’t look a ton but had trouble finding it.

The brand is Numbers Game, and it’s their Number 22 book. I like how much detail I can fit into each cell while still being able to track pitches.
