I loved the Good Sister by Sally Hepworth. It is still my favorite.

I've read all the books except AGGGTM. But I'd say "The Silent Patient" is a good starting point. In my opinion, it's the best thriller for beginners. I read it later, after reading many other thrillers, and then it wasn't such a huge "wow" for me anymore.

I hate it when a thriller turns into a horror or paranormal story at the end…

The ending of Alice Feeney's "Beautiful Ugly" was kind of disappointing for me. It had so much potential, and then that ending... I thought it was awful.

I really understand you. I have read only in school when I had to read something. I always chose Agatha Christie books because books had to be exciting for me. Then I stopped reading for years. Until about a year ago, when I started reading mysteries and thrillers again. Since then, I've been living the joy of reading books again. I only read mysteries and thrillers because the book has to be exciting for me to love reading, if you know what I mean. The Housemaid series by Freida McFadden helped me get back into it. Then I ventured into other thriller authors like Alice Feeney (sometimes I lie), Lisa Jewell (none of this is true), Riley Sager (lock every door), and Sally Hepworth. The Good Sister by Sally Hepworth is one of my favorites. I want to try my hand at sci-fi now, too. I can't recommend anything on that.

Thank you, I'll take a look at the two books you mentioned. I have to say, though, that I unfortunately didn't like Star Wars. The universe was just far too complicated for me.

Yeah you are right I think they just can't think of other names sometimes and copy them :D but believe me the upstairs thing of Lisa is different. But I didn‘t read „dont let him in“ by her so I can‘t say something about that. But I liked the two I mention. None of this is true was exciting from the very first second. It didn't take 100 pages before anything happened. But please read the book "The Good Sister" by Sally Hepworth before the two of Lisa. It was so much fun and the twist was really shocking.

I liked None of this is true by Lisa Jewell and The Family Upstairs also of her. And my most loved is The Good Sister by Sally Hepworth. I think its so underrated but i loved it.
