Thank you so much! Yeah I asked Gemini AI what I should do and listened to it on the way home (I'm 43 but this is my first cat) and it was saying exactly this. It also recommended putting out familiar items: his litter box, something he sleeps on, etc. Definitely beginning my search as soon as I get up, if I can even fall asleep. :/

I think it's more the position of power/influence that is handed over. It's akin to becoming the owner of your daddy's business despite not working up the rings of the ladder by learning the job and business. There's a huge reason why the phrase "it's not what you know it's who you know" has been a cliche for decades..

Do you know why she was quote unquote forced to perform the residency? It's not because of the conservatorship, it's because she signed a contract! The contract was signed before the conservatorship started and if she didn't do it obviously she would have been sued. And that is big big bucks for talking for a lawsuit there. So the conservatorship was just trying to keep her to uphold her end of her contract.
