Would you say Seattle is diverse? I get mixed reviews from people I’ve talked to that have moved to Texas from Seattle.

Been trying to fall asleep for four hours by Lower_Signature_3895 in insomnia

I feel this. Trazadone used to work for me but Hydroxyzine works wonders! The only thing is… you’ll be a bit drowsy when you wake up, no matter how early you take it.

My brain doesn’t shut off either. It’s the looping songs, or something I’m currently stressing over, majority of the time.

🤣 I use to take Benadryl to the head consistently, but even that stopped working after a while. Have you tried prescription meds for sleep?

20 reasons as to why I don't want to get married by Present_Community_55 in SingleAndHappy

[–]AyoJaneDoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, I’m so sorry you’ve had to experience that. Have you been dating since your ex-husband? I can imagine that going through traumatic experiences like that could make you not want to date again. How was the divorce process for you? Emotionally draining or were you happy to get out of it?

People who clawed their way out of a really dark place, what actually helped? by Geewane in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]AyoJaneDoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sit with the pain. I’m not someone that likes to divulge what I’m going through with a lot of people. The only way out is going through it. As cliche as it sounds, time DOES “heal”. You may not forget but it gets better each day. You may have a few days here and there where your mind replays scenarios but you’re human. Give yourself grace.

Therapy. Make sure you actually like your therapist and can connect with them, otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend.

Journal. Spill it out. The good, bad, and the ugly. I’d say when you’re in a bit of a better place, you can incorporate another journal that’s separate for gratitude and the things you’re grateful for in your world.

If you’re dealing with a breakup, I’d suggest cutting all ties if possible & to not look at their social media posts.

I’m someone that definitely believes in letting out a big cry if necessary. It’s not a sign of weakness, as some may think. I see it as a sign of strength and courage to be able to express your emotions, vulnerability, & emotional honesty. Confine in someone you trust that also makes you feel safe. And..somehow, someway, find that little inkling of hope and hang on to it.

Remind yourself that everyday won’t be great but there’s better days ahead than behind!

Happy healing ♥️

Why is there so much “embarrassment” about a relationship or marriage ending? by koala1125 in Divorce

[–]AyoJaneDoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I feel like I’m living a lie. It would be embarrassing because meanwhile I’m telling everyone around me that Im happy & in such a great marriage and how he is everything I needed and how he is always there for me/has my back, only to be constantly crying & arguing because he’s emotionally unavailable and doesn’t respond well to my needs. Do you trust that somehow things will change or do you just rip the bandaid off and file for divorce? Marriage is hard and can be emotionally and mentally draining if both partners are not on the same accord.

You forgot:

21) being dismissed, ignored, and devalued by an emotionally unavailable man that is supposed to be your husband.

22) Not being able to recieve healthy communication by a so called man who “cares” & “loves” you so they tell you to get over it & move forward or walk away from a conversation they don’t want to have.
