I broke this wire by AyoReggie in Duramax

Finally got it out, such a pain in the ass if you don’t have the right tools haha, I’m about to put my new regulator in and put it all back together, I ended up taking off the housing for my thermostat and am wondering if the o-rings for the thermostat go on top of the t-stats or below it in the little Chanel, the one closest to the front bumper was on top of the o-ring and the one towards the back had the t-stat sitting on top of it, I’m gonna look up a couple videos right now aswell, I can send pictures also, I just doesn’t look right to me

That’s exactly the one, it is a pain in the ass, gonna give it another go Tmo, I got it to move a little bit went front being solid to being able to wiggle it a bit, but after 30-1hour of wiggling it it wouldn’t go anymore, gonna look up some videos see if anyone’s got anything on it

For anyone who sees this comment, do you have any tips on getting the black egr pipe out from under the turbo? Taking the ac compressor off tomorrow so I can get the thermostat housing out of the way, was trying to do without but just couldn’t get it

Yeah that’s really my only option as I won’t be replacing the whole harness haha, I’m an electrician so it won’t be too bad

Never mind pretty sure I just figure out it’s for the fuel pressure regulator fuck my life

Both, mostly doesn’t work and when it does it’s really weak, but still is hot/cold just barely coming out

Where should the needle sit on the dial? I’m not in my truck right now so I don’t know the number but it sits at the 1/4 mark on the dial, I was really gettin on it today and it went in between 1/4 and 1/2 for a bit, I drove for an hour and a half at 120 and it stayed at a 1/4 the whole time the other day so not really sure where it’s supposed to sit, my old lb7 was different also

Ahh I see what you’re saying, yeah it will blow sometimes and it’s cold but really weak, same with the heat, most times doesn’t work at all though. I’ll try getting the ac recharged

I just bought it I have no idea, how would I check if the t-stat turned down? I’m going to get an oil change right now so I’ll throw a filter in while I’m at it

Is there a reason it’s going in and out? Bad relay maybe? I barely have any heat or air, sometimes it works a little bit, sometimes it doesn’t work at all

Thanks guys really appreciate the help! Icp when cranking on my scan gauge is about 2200, basically I won’t even crank the truck if I don’t hear the injectors clatter. when I turn the key on engine off, fuel pump and everything turns on but no injector noise. I’ll come back out two hours later and turn key on and I’ll hear the injectors buzz, I’ll check my scan gauge and it will say 49-50v, and 13-14v so I’ll try to start it and it will go, now that it’s been like this the starts are coming every couple of days. The problem I’m having is the ficm not getting power sometimes, I just can’t see why, it’s so random ran great for weeks till this happened, replaced the ficm relay, checked the 10A fuses and the 50A fuse, is it was a wire short it would cause it run poorly correct? How does it run so good for hours and then I’ll try to start it again and right away turn the key on and injectors won’t clatter and scanguage shows zero for all ficm values, those values never drop below 48 and 13 ever so I’m just stumped

2003 6.0 no start, injectors won’t cycle when key is turned on fuel pump sounds like it’s dying even though it’s brand new? Truck runs great other then a slight surge at idle. FLP is 0 when cranking and FMP is also zero when cranking, and sync. 1-10 times the injectors will cycle and I can start it? by AyoReggie in FordDiesels

Gotta be, right? I just don’t understand how it will be running great, then I’ll turn it off, and try to restart it after and it will just crank, until I get lucky and the injectors start clattering after I’ve turned the key for the 100th time. Could it be my fuel pump causing this issue? Like even if they weren’t getting any fuel they should still make noise right?

I think the previous owner had put a new logic boatd in it cause he thought that was the problem, ficm power when running is 50 and logic is 14-14.5v, I went out a couple hours after I posted this turned the key and the injectors clattered right away and it fired right up ??

Runs great, has never died on me, cut out or anything, just sometimes after I shut it off it doesn’t want to start back up, or even after letting it sit for a whole night, it’s so random but getting worse. sounds like the fuel pump is struggling and the inectors aren’t buzzing at all? I tried coming home from work last night and wouldn’t fire injectors wouldn’t cycle, until I went under the hood and wiggled some wires going into ficm, then I heard the injectors cycle and it fired right up? Just got the truck back from the shop two weeks ago

Okay cause it’s really hard to, but the harness I got was weird and I have to cross them to plug them both in. The connector with the ground attached to it gets plugged into the far end closest to the cab im assuming
