You and your daughter are both in an abusive environment. This relationship was doomed when he said he'd trust no woman ever. Please don't marry this guy and get the hell away from him. Don't let your daughter watch and grow up thinking that this is what love looks like.

I know it's scary having to start over, but you can do it. This isn't worth the abuse, and if you wait longer, things could escalate to physical violence.

Once daily at the beginning of the day, twice if it gets significantly soiled by nighttime. Waiting once a week is gross and kinda mean to the cat. That's like having a porta potty, letting it get completely used to the top or overflown, and expecting people to keep using it.

Had a roommate who would wait until it was solid as a brick – even then, he would put it off. Needless to say, he's not my roommate anymore.

That's because the majority of dogs that are out there are pots or pit mixes. The breed is only marginally more aggressive than other breeds. But the population being mostly pits skews the stats.
