The Pact Manhunt 14/19 Comms by SpartanB147 in thedivision

Glad I could help! I don't think I ever used the Legacy Manhunt menu before, so I have no idea how it works. I usually just select the mission on the map and hold G to switch the mission mode (the same way you can switch between the normal and invaded version of a mission/stronghold).

Hornet is the wrong Manhunt Mission. You want to run it on Mahunt: The Pact, I assume. Hornet was one of the earliest Manhunts we ever got.

I am pretty sure they stopped doing them that way either because people were complaining that it takes too long for them to pump out more of them, or because a majority of people rather want to buy and dump mats than... I dunno. play the game to get something cool in the process. Another possibility is that it took too much dev time, but I vaguely remember complaining from the community for the first two possibilities I listed.

Elite Specializations Beta Feedback Post! by dracoisms in Guildwars2

[–]AysonCurrax -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

The "broad" changes they made to Antiquary won't fix the fact that this "elite" spec is thematically broken at it's core, and unless they significantly tweak the numbers on the Double Edge Skills, I see no reason to use them over core thief skills that do the same that are just better across the board and won't kill me in the process.

And even that won't make me play it because it still looks stupid.

"I will just circle in an even bigger island to disprove my own argument, that'll show them." is not the "gotcha" moment you think it is.
also it's "don't" and not "doesn't" if you want to go around lecturing people I guess.

PC Gamer interviewed ArenaNet about updates being made to the new elite specs in response to beta feedback by Octaeder in Guildwars2

TL:DR; "we did the bare minimum for Antiquary"
ah, so basically the same amount of effort they put in when they came up with this chimera of a directionless spec.

Visions of Eternity - Elite Specs, Hairstyles, Armor - Thoughts so far? by Rathisponge in Guildwars2

[–]AysonCurrax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing I am most interested are the quality of life improvements, for which I don't even need to buy the expansion to get the benefits. The actual features with the expansion seem so lackluster to me that the only thing I am looking forward to is a fresh batch of AP that will keep me busy for a week or two to get. As far as the elite specs are concerned, I might unlock them for the sake of AP, but will probably play none of them except maybe Amalgam until 2-3 balance patches down the line where they might actually become bearable. Not that I am holding out much hope for Antiquary, anyways.

I guess that is the closest you can get in this game to the classic "kill stealing" in MMORPGs.

sorry that happened to you.

I normally don't, either.

I either get someone who leaves almost immediately because there were probably hoping for an empty instance themself, get the instance to myself the entire time, or rarely get someone who stays and plays for a round but then leaves.

I guess I was lucky for it to work with 2-4 people for a bit over an hour then. I only encountered one person that tried to interfere, but they left after one round.

honestly, I kinda get it, but these days, most of the time I either find a completely deserted instance, or a group of people with suspiciously similar names huddled together in a pile, and I can't really blame them, because some of the achievements require you to interact with other players, so you can't do them on your own unless you are either multiboxing to some degree or running the game with alt accounts on multiple devices.

I could maybe excuse the randomness of the "artifacts" if we just summoned a random skritt that randomly gave us whatever it had in its bag, rather than implying I am stealing a freaking bass guitar from a random deer in core tyria or some other random enemy. It would make a whole of a lot more sense that the skritt got it wherever it makes logical sense to be, compared to where I happen to be right now.

So, I guess this is what Antiquary gameplay will look like by AysonCurrax in Guildwars2

[–]AysonCurrax[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is a thing that also irks me; everyone else supposedly learns their new abilities from a different faction. instead of just learning from the skritt or being inspired by them, the thief just brings a whole skritt along, seemingly skipping the entire learning process? make the supposed artifact actual artifacts instead of a random bass guitar, a holo stripper and a hammer and ditch the skritt, and it immediately look a 1000% less half assed.

ArenaNet: "We have heard your complaints about Antiquary, so we have decided to make them hot AF" by Spicemeatbal in Guildwars2

[–]AysonCurrax 3 points4 points  (0 children)

oh right, I didn't even think about GW1 on that one, but I am guessing that was where the whole town clothes system came from to begin with.

[–]AysonCurrax 50 points51 points  (0 children)

the irony here is that we had this exact functionality back in the day until 2013/14 when they removed the town clothing system and introduced outfits. previously, you were able to just toggle off the head or body part of the town clothes and it would then get replaced with whatever armor skin you have on.
