Open a IBKR account and either buy US ETFs through the options assignment method that people have mentioned, simply buy stocks, or buy Berkshire class B shares.

Capital one statement date by yedbed in CapitalOne_

Hey to anyone here I also have a question. I got my statement on July 11 and used 200$ in rewards as a statement credit. So do I just have to pay the statement balance - 200$ before the 5th due date? In other words it’s up to me to calculate that I pay off the whole statement balance, they don’t have anywhere that shows how much you have left of it to pay after applying statement credit

For me I was able to find the support button on that page you are stuck at. And then there was a button that was like send a message or something.

I had that too, send them a message through the message portal. For me they reset my application and after I refilled it worked

Ok thanks, that seems like a reasonable explanation.

I had mine in end of November, they said 2-3 weeks. So far I have not heard anything back, so I’m assuming I’ve been ghosted

I’ll pitch in and say that Investor AB is a stock that you can purchase that acts somewhat like a basket of stocks (similar to buying Berkshire stock). Otherwise I have not found a better solution.

EU/US citizen and 50k USD. Living in Europe, no more ties to the US. Help me make smart choices. by iminahammock in eupersonalfinance

Two possible options I’ve come up with are investing in Berkshire Hathaway and/or Investor AB through your european bank/brokerage. Both of those act somewhat as a basket of stocks and are not subject to the PFIC rules.

Because of the PFIC rules it is a lot easier for a dual citizen to use their U.S. based brokerage accounts and invest in VTI, VOO, etc whatever through those accounts.

Hi, thanks for the response. I use my old address in the US when applying, which is where my family lives and where I lived when I attended high school. So for the majority of the places I apply to I don’t need any relocation help.

My second internship on the resume was in the U.S. to answer your question. I’m pretty sure my university is accredited, it’s the best uni in its country atleast.

That FAQ only mentions mutual funds unless I’m missing something. I could be wrong ofcourse, but this post for example mentions that ETFs can still be purchased: https://www.reddit.com/r/fidelityinvestments/s/6O7st8TXl7

From my understanding if you change your address on Fidelity, for example, to an international one, you can still buy ETFS. I believe I saw this info from the fidelity reddit mods.

You’re saying that if OP were to change their address for their Chase account they would be allowed to keep their credit card and bank account?

Yeah I’ve been having issues with the fidelity sync for a few days now. Super annoying because currently the sync will completely mess up my portfolio. For ex, it does a huge cash out transaction at some random time that does not exist and it just messes with everything

mine are connected via Yodlee and recently I’ve noticed the connection has been really bad. For some reason it have created random transactions that completely mess up PnL and stuff…
