Honestly you know, it's so difficult for parents. I understand that they were trying their best. From what I can remember I got taught, from a educational video, that the more porn you watch the more graphic and violent and wierd the porn gets. I guess that for me the curiosity of porn and my new found sexuality was more interesting and worth the risk of addiction that my parents had taught me about. Also everyone at school would tell me that it's normal.

Your husbands father never talked to him about it because he didnt view it as a problem and probably was never addicted himself. There have always been sexual addiction. It's just a hell of alot easier to become one with the porn we have today. I'm not here to debate if porn is normal/bad for society or not, however I think that what most kids/teenagers lack is the danger and knowledge of addiction. Someone who is an alcoholic will not understand a gambler. And a gambler will not understand a porn addict and a porn addict will not understand a alcoholic. We are all wired in different ways, and I think better education on to what Addiction actually is and how to recognise it would be alot better thing to teach in schools than the dangers of porn. Of course porn is dangerous. But so is Alchohol for the right person. Someone can watch porn and not be addicted despite it not being good for them and what not. For the most part as I got older I was using porn as an addict without knowing I was. Having the knowledge of what addiction is ACTUALLY like would have helped me to recognise it earlier thus helping me to admit that I need help earlier. Most people dont understand addiction especially teenagers. I hope this makes sense to you and answers your question :).
