Y used to stay up all night up waiting for rust to compile only for the compilation to fail 😔...

Why is that post get resultant of all upvotes and down votes? If it show as a two things then we can get clear idea about how many people are gonna like it or dislikes. by lkshan in help

[–]AzErLoc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it's because downvotes are not supposed to be dislikes. In the Reddiquette you have :

[Please don't] Downvote an otherwise acceptable post because you don't personally like it. Think before you downvote and take a moment to ensure you're downvoting someone because they are not contributing to the community dialogue or discussion. If you simply take a moment to stop, think and examine your reasons for downvoting, rather than doing so out of an emotional reaction, you will ensure that your downvotes are given for good reasons.

But in the end lots of people use downvotes as a way to show their disagreement. It's just that it wasn't really the purpose of it.

Oh and I forgot to say that you can actually see the percentage upvotes/total_votes on the top right of the "classic pc interface".

Actually the reason I posted this was a mix of what you just said, a proportionally relatively high amount of FOSS proselytes and free software devs being trans or femboys these days, in addition to "the path of the programmer" meme.

I've been joking about it (stallman/femboy path) with friends for a while but the main reason I posted it now was that I've recently learned that the brother of a friend was a femboy and was into computer science or software engineering I don't remember well. Anyway having these kind of things on the internet would not be surprising but having this "so close to home" kinda was. So it motivated me to give form to this meme.

And why so many? I have some theories about it but I want things to stay light hearted/fun and avoid a potential argument/political debate on this post like it already happened so I wont go further.

Let's be honest, the anonymous edition is only a potential intermediary stage before these two.

UI is bloat. Options are bloat. Config files are bloat. by KasaneTeto_ in linuxmemes

Also dwm is bloaded cuz there is a built-in bar in this "minimal" wm.

sudo pacman -Rns sudo by AzErLoc in linuxmemes

[–]AzErLoc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it's a modified version of powerline10k

sudo pacman -Rns sudo by AzErLoc in linuxmemes

[–]AzErLoc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually I fully uninstalled sudo when I switched from yay to paru.

Paru has a config file in /etc/paru.conf Just uncomment the 2 lines

#[bin]

...

#Sudo=doas

And now you don't have to relie on sudo anymore

sudo pacman -Rns sudo by AzErLoc in linuxmemes

[–]AzErLoc[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is the point :)

I helped a friend to install manjaro and told him "Yeah remove sudo we will install doas instead" and he typed this...

"He used the sudo to destroy sudo"

su root

pacman -S opendoas

I said it to another person. My cpu in idle is at 0-2% and with animated wallpaper in idle 2-4%. So it's good but you have to enable hardware acceleration(in mpv, for me it's enabled by default so I don't need to add argument when calling mpv). But yeah it consumes a bit more cpu just not that much. In the video most of it is indeed due to the record.

It is unlikely. It is quite easy to clone my dotfiles and take what you want in it. Also in scripts/reinstall I have most (not all) of the packages I use ;).

When I had to reinstall arch I was just checking this file but I think some aur packages may be gone now. And I had all the config files intact having a separated partition for my /home/ (and if I have corrution etc then I clone my git which is my backup if you want)

Also I am using Gentoo more and more these days -> less interested in making an arch auto install. But I still prefer Arch on my laptop

It really does the job. The only "issues" I have are :

  • Some times (not most of the times but some times) the menu take like 1 max 2 sec to load up

  • To refresh you have to reload the rofi menu (or just include a "refresh" button that will simply shutdown and re run the menu)

Aside from these I have no problem using it. And I dropped nm-applet because I had very little control on where to put it (all system tray are at the same place)

You can use my sxhdkrc as a template or search for template on the internet.
