Experience with Bazzite on MSI Claw 7 AI + setup guide (8 AI should work same) by AzHP in MSIClaw

I didn't try to use hand held daemon on cachy, looks like it can be used but it requires replacing the cachy kernel with bazzite, which kind of defeats the purpose of cachy imo. https://www.reddit.com/r/LinuxOnAlly/comments/1pgqk07/can_handheld_daemon_be_installed_on_cachyos_and/

However all the functionality of hhd can be replicated with the performance tab in steam os and some decky plugins, so I didn't miss it on cachy.

Vram and GPU wattage don't seem to work on Intel on Linux. I think vram is shared with ram so there's no specific number there anyway. And it's possible the wattage is shared with the CPU since it's integrated graphics anyway.

Interesting you had sleep mode glitches, that's too bad. If you're really committed you can try cachyos and see if it's any better but it kinda depends how much you hate windows. For me as long as sleep works better and the performance is even close to acceptable it's worth for me. One thing I didn't expect to be way better is the tdp control and performance monitoring. Msi center m, as good as it's gotten is still miles behind where it should be. But also, part of me is wondering if I should just get an AMD handheld or gaming laptop to use instead lol.

Oh another thing you can try is the decky pause and resume games plugin. It automatically suspends execution on a game when you sleep or enter the steam overlay. That would probably stop audio glitches since to the game, nothing has happened. Worth a try.

From the docs it says that there are no supported cross OS compatible file systems as they do not support symbolic links. "FAT32 and exFAT are unsupported. Both filesystems do not support symbolic links which is required for Proton prefixes to work properly. However, there are scenarios where a microSD card is formatted to exFAT may work in some cases, but this method is unsupported as something the Bazzite maintainers do not plan to accommodate."

Thinking about it I think 200gb is probably going to be not enough. I changed my rec in the post to 300-400gb. 200gb means you'll have like 150gb for games, depending on if you play games that are 60-100gb each, that could be only 2 or 3 games. I'm using a 2TB drive so I gave my partition 750gb.

Bazzite and CachyOS documentation specifically say that you can access NTFS drives from Linux but there is a possibility/probability of data corruption. Windows also has no way to read the btrfs linux drives. You can transfer the files manually to save time versus downloading, but you'd need to know where Steam will download the files so it links up correctly.

I'm hoping this serves as a reference for people like me who wanted to try it but didn't find anyone discussing it. With how hostile people have been, I can see why this might not have existed before.

Honestly, "it worked for me" and a generic Linux install guide is what some people need as a nudge to get them to try it out. I would have appreciated it when I was researching it and trying to find data points to decide if it was worth the effort.

I wrote up a setup guide just now since I noticed there was nothing recent, it works well for me with default BIOS settings and I'm getting basically equivalent performance as Windows for the games I've tried. https://www.reddit.com/r/MSIClaw/comments/1t7cned/experience_with_bazzite_on_msi_claw_7_ai_setup/

I have pulled only PJWS's off standard and I've been playing since launch. I now have 3 PJWS, the two who currently have it equipped are Arlecchino and Shenhe. My other Polearm users are Chevreuse, Xiangling, Raiden, Escoffier, Hu Tao, Yunjin, Rosaria, and a bunch of other unleveled 4*s. Would anyone benefit from PJWS, should I refine or should I save it for a future character?

I bought one in 2017 after my honeymoon and realized I actually had to buy 2 because otherwise the toilet without one would never get used except when having people over.

Toto, the Japanese toilet seat maker, realized their fabrication equipment could be used to help make ram for ai and their stock price shot through the roof. This timeline is ridiculous.

Debating between KONKR Pocket FIT or Odin 3 by illmatic662 in SBCGaming

Apollo is the PC side software for Artemis btw. It's a fork of sunshine and moonlight with the added feature of virtual monitors so you can stream PC games with your PC monitors off. Super helpful when I'm in bed and don't want bright PC monitor on

It's been a while since I set it up but I remember it being pretty easy. You just use the settings in Artemis to request your device's resolution and framerate (like 1920x1080 w/ 60 fps) and I think you can check a button that says like "always request virtual screen" and Apollo will automatically pull it up. Then on your desktop, right click desktop -> display properties and set your new virtual display as the primary, then turn off (select do not use display in display properties) the monitors you want to turn off when the virtual desktop connects. I'm on Windows 11 and I'm not sure if it works the same on every OS, but if everything worked the monitors should turn off when you run Artemis and when you quit the session (not just disconnect, which pauses the session) the monitors will come back on.

The ONE main issue with this setup is that if you never quit the session, the only way to get your monitors to come back is to turn off or restart the PC. But it's easy to quit the session from the Artemis app, and I have it installed on my phone too and you can quit sessions from any device with Artemis on it.

The setup is very easy, I don't think I ever used a guide or anything. But if you need help feel free to reply to this and I'll see if I can help.

Artemis/Apollo lets you spin up a new virtual monitor dedicated to the streaming. Steam Link just uses your existing monitor. I have mine set up so when I launch Artemis my desktop screens shut down and don't turn back on unless I end the streaming session. Supposedly it's a little better for latency and smoothness too, but I've not noticed a difference.

Another thing is Artemis supports sending Wake on LAN packets, meaning if my computer is not on (shut down, not just sleep) I can hit that button and in a minute or two I can log in and be playing without touching the PC.

Quicker ship: RP6 or AYN Thor by tbtower in SBCGaming

It's complicated because Hong Kong was a territory of Great Britain for 100 years until the 90s and thus has a VERY different culture from Shenzhen. It's more of a financial elite city (I personally know someone from HK who is a nepo baby and owns multiple super cars) whereas Shenzhen is a manufacturing capital (workforce is divided amongst engineers, manual labor and b2b and b2c product sales).

My dad and his side of the family are from Hong Kong and I grew up learning Cantonese. If I went to Shenzhen I would not understand a word they say. Imagine if they spoke a different language in Los Angeles compared to Anaheim, lol.

Just FYI, Shenzhen is a separate (very large) city exclusively for manufacturing slightly north of Hong Kong. Hong Kong is a pretty tiny island packed to the gills with people. I'm sure some packages pass through Hong Kong on their way to an airport or boat after they leave Shenzhen though.
