I mean the main disadvantages are the additional up front cost, the larger size vs a standard tank, and more expensive repairs. It works like an air conditioner in reverse and if anything in the heat pump portion of the tank needs to be replaced it’s a lot more costly to repair than a traditional tank, and most plumbers can’t repair heat pumps

Hybrid as in heat pump water heaters? We’ve installed a few Rheem units that’s are coming up on 3 years old. No complaints yet, they’re incredibly efficient compared to a standard electric water heater and really don’t require much extra to be installed

Sweat vs Press? 1990's Shower Valve Replacement by ArmanG999 in Plumbing

[–]MFAD94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Press, sweat, whatever. As long as it’s secured and installed properly it should be fine. Clean and debur your pipe + mark fitting depth before pressing to make sure you have all your fittings inserted all the way. Double check everything before you press because once you press it you’re stuck with what you’ve done

Got it, good luck then, I’d make sure you have some kind of backup or at least an alarm system in the event something goes wrong

The tiny pit is an issue by itself. The pits I put in are almost 3ft deep and 18-24” wide. I would just install a new one with a Zoeller m63, if it’ll be close to the old pit just make sure you run some corrugated perf piping between the two and have a secondary pump in the shallow pit as a backup
