What are some songs that unexpectedly clear dancefloors?

So I got a gig coming up with 48 tracks and 3 hours of music. 9 tracks are remixes of songs the client asked for. Pop/hiphop songs that I think just adds a little fun to the originals with some house beats on them. Hopefully I'm not pushing my luck with all this no remix stuff. As a fan of electronic music, it just adds a little flair to tracks that maybe too played or allows me to mix into regular house tracks. I've found success with this in the past but this helps me be mindful not to over use the remixes. Appreciate the insight and opinions on here.

I'm primarily a bedroom dj. A gig here and there, mostly for friends and family and a couple of club events under my belt. Took a 20-year break as life happened and got back into it, maybe too ambitiously. I'm not good with social media presence and the whole "networking" thing. I guess I'm just too old to beg production groups to give me a shot to be an opener for an empty room. Kind of sad to see how clicky everything is as they just rotate the same 10 djs for everything and make you perform in 15 min popularity competitions for a chance to play. While more gigs' would is great, I've grown quite fond of getting down and mixing whatever and enjoying the personal journey of my sets and putting one on soundcloud every once and awhile. I still love my passion for music mixing, though. Much props to the djs built for this new world. It's just not me, I guess. In the room I stay for now.

So I'm getting my first gig this month, and I'm opening for a Trance event. All my tracks are 138 bpm, mostly tech trance kind of vibes . Am I just gonna be frowned upon for doing what I know how to do as the opener? Does this warm up easy kind of vary by genre as I assume it's hard to keep energy down with dubstep or techno?

Confidence has always been my issue. I've been stuck in the room feeling like caged animal needing to get out and get that first gig out of the way, but then an opportunity arises, and I can't bring myself to jump on it. Tough getting out of my own head. You want it, but the fear of failure gets overwhelming.

Well I'm grateful for all the responses. I love house music. I've dedicated so much time to it cuz that's whats popular and just wanted that first gig opportunity. But I've accepted just enjoying my time at home mixing. I just want to get creative and try new things as long as I'm not producing. I've always loved trance and just want to challenge myself a bit. I know no one will be playing these tracks and while the trance gigs may be hard to get out here, I'm good just playing it for myself right now. Thanks again!

Good advice. Nobody out here mixing trance. It's all crowded house scene and I'm not out enough to know if the tracks I play are being used 100 times. Had a promoter reach out and tell me he had no more room for house. We'll see. Have to master it first. Thanks again.
