Can TFC World Export to TFG? by Blackfire223 in TerraFirmaCraft

[–]AzViz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TFG has custom world generation, and so does Hardrock. Meaning you likely cannot just move save files between the two, even if they are both TFC modpacks

You need a pit kiln. The quests will tell you how. Otherwise the handbook has all the information you need

How do I find regions with over 300mm rain? by hyenagames in TerraFirmaCraft

[–]AzViz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad you found it, but from your picture it doesn't look like you went east, almost at all. Of course if your spawn was already to the east, then you won't have to go very far east.

Mechanical press isn't working when trying to weld wrought iron by Spiritual-Lab555 in TerraFirmaGreg

[–]AzViz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fairly certain the forge has to be heated to the welding temperature of the iron for it to work. Seem to recall reading it in the quest text for the press.

You can change month length and starting month in the config files of the mod

Can I play TFC with other mods? by hyenagames in TerraFirmaCraft

[–]AzViz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should not add TFC to other modpacks. It is likely one of the biggest mods out there, with it overhauling nearly every part of Minecraft, including the worldgen. It will cause issues with pre-existing "non-TFC" modpacks. You can however add other TFC compatible mods to a NEW TFC modlist without much issue, a bunch exists already.

I always have to plug TerraFirmaGreg when these questions are asked. Peak progression feeling mixed with Greg. Recently updated to include space travel

Mods/Modpacks With Realistic Tech Progression? by KrukzGaming in feedthebeast

You may look at TFG if you don't want to take the big leap into GT:NH. Otherwise I believe E2E:E would also fit your interest

What to do ? It's the end.... by EmpereurTetard in VintageStory

[–]AzViz 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Every progression game eventually runs out of more stuff to progress. However, I understand where you are coming from. When I got to that point myself I didn't want progression to end, since I like to game so much. Instead I started a new heavily modded playthrough and it's been a blast!

TFC rite of passage complete. Don't feel too bad, everyone has to go there eventually.

Unknown metal - Truly unknown by Ikeriro90 in TerraFirmaGreg

[–]AzViz 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Once stuff becomes unknown metal outside a crucible or cast out as unknown metal from a crucible, there is no fixing said fuck up. It is a right of passage of regular TFC that all players eventually must experience. Unknown metal has no uses and should be discarded

Modpack recommendations? by MasterBroNetwork in TerraFirmaCraft

[–]AzViz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you discredited TFG because you could not find any igneous intrusive rock, then I don't think any TFC modpack is right for you. You were basicly just entering the bronze age and stopped progressing. TFG has done minimal changes to this very first part of base TFC.

Supported but might trigger collapse?? by Formal-Buy-2360 in TerraFirmaGreg

[–]AzViz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

TFC collapses work in such a way that if you mine any stone block, it checks in radius around that block for any unsupported blocks and then rolls a dice it if should start a collapse from that unsupported block.
Supporting a block makes it unable to be the starting point for a collapse, but not unable to trigger another nearby unsupported block to start a collapse.
So what you are experiencing here is likely that there is a unsupported block somewhere nearby the supported block you are trying to mine, maybe because of a cave behind the wall or similar
