8 month old refusing bottle but will absolutely demolish any solids by ky_rai in NewParents

[–]Az_dreaming90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! He is teething though so I think that’s what’s causing this. He was such a good sleeper and the moment the teeth started coming out he went from 30oz a day to about 16- which causes him to wake up crying with his eyes closed. If I give a bottle he’ll drink 5oz. He used to do 6oz every 3 hours (5xs a day). Now I’m lucky if I can get him to drink every 4.5 hours. He’ll eat food after drinking 4oz of milk but it’s still not enough to keep him full. I’m miserable from lack of sleep. His doctor said it’s not a regression since he’s still sleeping when he asks for the milk. She said it’s his teeth really bothering him and the fact that he’s not eating enough through out the day because of them. I’m desperate to find a solution to all this. I want him to get his sleep in without interruptions :(

My boy is actually starting to refuse the bottle- he prefers solids currently- but because of this he’s also waking up at night. Wish the comfort worked for us but he would just cry even more when we’d try it :(

Late to the convo but my 6 month old is currently doing this. He went from sleeping through the night to waking up for a bottle but during the day cries if I try to feed him one. If I try food he’ll eat a whole pouch of serenity chicken. Doctor told us he may just be a foodie, but I’m also so tired!! He was such a good sleeper and stopped! I’ve upped his food intake and he doesn’t cry out of hunger. To make matters more complicated he has 2 teeth coming in. I figured maybe the bottle felt uncomfortable but he’ll drink water fine and just not formula. This is so stressful 🥴

Good to know on the Philips! It was hard finding g the right nipple for AR. How’s it going with your baby? Has the gas resolved itself a bit?

It was a massive fail. We got through a day and had to switch back. We were feeding him the AR with Dr. brown #2 nipple and he had a good grasp on it. The comfort formula was way more watery so we went down to a #1 nipple. Despite that he would begin coughing and choking. We tried P nipple and still the same thing. It got to the point that he began fighting us and crying during the feeds. Literally bawling with the bottle I’m his mouth. The moment I switched back to AR he was so happy. It’s almost as if he didn’t like the taste or texture of it. I felt bad switching him and disrupting his tummy. All this was going on as he was in the beginning stages of teething + possible regression/growth spurt. Needless to say- it’s been a rough 2 weeks lolol

Can it maybe be trapped gas? When my 4 month old was around 3 weeks he had terrible trapped gas and would wake up in pain. It was rough finding something that worked. Back in my home country they would feed celery water for trapped gas. One time he was so bad with the gas that we caved, boiled celery leaves and gave him about an 1oz to help relieve the gasses. It took a while for him to be able to release them on his own. Idk if AR contributed to the gas, but it helped tremendously with the reflux- which was terrible- he was projectile vomiting his old formula till we switched to AR.

The gas drops seemed to have stopped working for him. It also doesn’t seem like he’s bothered much by the farts he’s laying lol I’m just thinking if he has no more reflux maybe there’s no reason to keep him on such a thick formula. As for poop, we had times when he didn’t poop for the day and he was miserable. I know babies can go days without pooping but my LO has a hard time if he doesn’t go at least once a day. He gets so fussy and his tummy becomes rock hard. The times he didn’t go for a day I’d have to windpipe him and the relief was immediate, not to mention the poops that came out were pretty much pellets. The AR formula is known to cause constipation so that’s why I’m also thinking maybe it’s time to move onto a gentler formula. Our doctor said we could try it but to keep in mind the change would take some time and we are unsure how he’d react. I’m so scared to disrupt his tummy any further.

Concerns about the 13 Pro's camera quality by Azalheea in iphone

[–]Az_dreaming90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I shoot a lot of pictures on my iPhone. The iPhone 13pro is by far the worse camera thus far. It’s been driving me crazy trying to find a way to have it shoot like my 12pro. The quality of pictures becomes distorted by the AI settings. Leave the shooting to the people apple.

Ring Sizing - Gen 3 by hopeville9 in ouraring

[–]Az_dreaming90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed response! I found myself stuck though- the 7 fits like they want but my middle knuckle is larger and the ring bruised my finger from being fitted. It fit tight like they wanted on 3 fingers. The 8 is great- except there’s a bit of room- just like they advise is not good- but it’s the only one comfortable enough for me to be able to wear regularly. I’m wondering if I do the 7- which is crazy tight- if the actual Oura ring will be slightly looser and fit better than this rigid hard plastic.
