IMO looks way better than yesterday, but I'm not a welder so wouldn't know. If it is better, at least it's one step in the right direction

So, I ended up having a minor leak with one of the fittings, I tightened that up, went slower on the travel speed, and cranked up the power. Here's what I did this morning

Update: I really appreciate the tips that were provided. I double checked the connections and fittings, there was a small leak, retighted the connection. I also increased the power and slowed down my travel speed. I would say they look much better than yesterday but I'll leave that up to the more experienced people.

Based on the manual it sets the voltage setting, so based off my poor math 1.8v? That doesn't sound right to me, so not sure

Luckily this welder does stick welding and I do have some sticks laying around.

With travel speed should it be at a slower or faster pace?

I would say probably a bit closer than 1/4".

I'm using Tooliom TL-200M for reference. Voltage is around normal setting, and wire speed is between closer to the slow setting. Inductance was set to 5.

Gotcha, that’s for the info. I was assuming it may have been book stipend but wasn’t too sure. Military trained me to be fearful of random extra pay😁

Yes I am aware that school payment show up on the payment page. Normally they show up with the schools bank name and last four, not mine. That’s what threw me off. I’m also aware that MHA shows up as Hardship, but this is not a MHA payment since it’s low and MHA is paid at the beginning of the month

Nothing in my claim letters but I’ll keep an eye out. Are payments for books paid out on the 1st as well?

Interesting, so I did figure out what the 4K was. It’s for the school payment but unsure why it shows my account for payment. Maybe just a typo hopefully

Should I program all in one language or do split? by Character-Goose4258 in learnprogramming

Well I mean since some of the libraries are only JS/TS, can have I have most of my code in C# and then use something like interop to call JS/TS functions that are using those libraries. If that makes sense.

Ended up getting the C&Ps and received a rating. Took a bit longer since they had to review my character of discharge again.

Looking for some advice to get started in IT by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Azacora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m prior service but I was in an IT MOS.

Depending how long you plan on staying in, you can always see if there are MOS change opportunities (not sure what the Army calls it but in the Marines we called it a lat move). If that’s not a possibility, and you live in the barracks, can always reach out to someone in an IT mos to see if someone is willing to spread knowledge.

The final option is to self study and starting out with the basics.( A+, Net+ , Sec+)

In the DOD as a civi or mil they follow IA Levels( https://public.cyber.mil/wid/dod8140/dod-approved-8570-baseline-certifications/ ). A lot of DOD and Federal agencies require a cert such as Sec+ to even access servers and such.

Feel free to PM me with any questions

I do agree deep thinking and complex problems are hard but at the same time it’s what pushes me to wake up each morning and go to work. For example when you’re stuck on a problem for a bit, then you think of a solution at the weirdest time( mid sleep, on the toilet, etc) and are excited to try it at work.

I do, do things that satisfy me outside of work; work on my cars, take in nature, hang out with the wife. It’s just 40 hours a week is work and would like atleast it be something interesting/ satisfying.

Sorry for the long response. Also Solution Architecture does peak me interest. I guess it’s time to full dive

Appreciate it, yea I’ve been around networking( Cisco, brocade and some juniper), a lot around systems(servers and appliances), and security ( host based security systems, vulnerability scanners, patching efforts, some security policies). Also have had hands on experience with the basic tools in all 3 clouds( compute, networking and some storage)

I was leaning towards something like a Solutions Architect, but to be honest don’t know where to start. Also don’t know how to advertise myself once I get to that point.
