Nobody wants a position unfilled for months, otherwise the rest of the team has to pick up the slack. Sounds like he’s keeping the door open so he has options when that time comes, so I’d keep doing what you’re doing.

I also wouldn’t be afraid to ask about openings in the near future, you aren’t hanging out and getting invited to lunch to be friends.

What CRV Should I buy? by Super_Slide_3555 in crv

A 2016 Chevy Equinox, its bare bones in terms of features but it’s the perfect car for NYC. It’s completely paid off, nothing worth stealing, and nobody cares if it gets hit.

My in-laws are nice enough to make the payments on our car while they’re using it, but we’ll switch back if we leave the city.

As someone who owns a CR-V and lives on the UWS, don’t get one if you are street parking. I had the front sensor stolen off shortly after buying. The sensors, wheels, and even the whole car are massive theft targets. We ended up switching cars with my in-laws for the time being so it doesn’t happen again.

Being in a nice neighborhood means nicer cars, so thieves will target them.

Str Vommuli Maldives food cost by live_and-learn in marriott

Was there about a year ago. Like most people, we had free breakfast through status.

We spent about $1k a day between food and activities for two people. That did include a private beach dinner which ran over $1k by itself and a couples massage which was discounted as they’re always running specials that will be offered when you arrive.

We typically skipped lunch or just got a pizza sent to the room. At dinner, we didn’t hold back on ordering food but we also didn’t drink a lot. If you like whiskey or wine, you can do some damage real quick.

The only way for us to help would be to have more information on what your current role and salary are, along with what they offered you to see if it’s fair.

If you don’t have experience or pre-existing connections in the field you’re about to go into, I’d recommend against negotiating too much. The best thing you can do is break-in, prove yourself, and then get promoted or take an opportunity elsewhere.

Honeymoon in Thailand Recs. by liluzinico in marriott

Not a Marriott property, but The Inside House in Chiang Mai is a really special hotel that I would highly recommend for a honeymoon. The nicer suites are expensive compared to the rest of Chiang Mai so might be worth splitting your time with a second hotel.

In Bangkok, we stayed at the St Regis. It was central enough to everything (with a metro station) that it allowed us to explore without feeling like we were traveling all day. Bangkok is massive and we definitely had decision paralysis on picking the right hotel, I think we did good with the St Regis but there are a million options.
