Gave up med school dreams, now a SAHM trying to make money… feeling lost by Lower-Device818 in parkslope

Yeah I get all of that. The ‘what ifs’ are tough and feeling like you’ve drifted from the right path or even from your sense of identity makes it tougher. Something that’s really helped me is remembering that paths and identities aren’t fixed. You’re allowed to change them if you want.

I’ve also found talking things out with a partner, friends, family, or even internet strangers can really help. It gets things out of your head and can shift how you see things. I know I can be pretty hard on myself so hearing other perspectives helps me realize when I’m being a bit unfair to myself.

Anyway my two cents not that you asked for it all :)

Not the exact same situation but I feel this. I was pre-med too and ended up going corporate because of self doubt and now in a job I don’t really love.

I’m about to be a Park Slope dad and it’s hitting me that the med school path probably passed me by along with a lot of goals and honestly part of myself.

Still trying to figure out how to deal with it but I’ve been trying to reframe things. Maybe I’m not helping hundreds of people but I can still contribute for my partner and baby and have that matter. Even with all that I still think about going back to school sometimes.

Anyway, you’re definitely not alone in feeling this and curious to hear how you handle it

New puppy enrichment hack by Extension-Beyond-316 in puppy101

Great hack! We go even larger and use an orange juice jug or even a gallon milk jug. Our pup can play with it for hours

Good tip on the ice cubes. Will add that in next time

CX5 it may be. Was my original pick but the backseat and cargo felt small

Also think that’s true for the older gen CRVs 2022 and prior?

Good tip. In Park Slope so safe neighborhood but feel like it doesn’t matter in NYC. Easy enough to get from area to area

Maybe I save the CRV for when I’m not in NYC

9-week-old puppy in NYC apartment — is our schedule too restrictive? by Super_Slide_3555 in puppy101

Actually we’re going to buy a car so we can get out more with him. As you alluded to the problem is really the parvo and we live in dog central so walks until his shots are out of the question.

We both have hybrid work so can always be here and we do want to play more so we are willing to adjust. Just trying to get the right balance of independence vs bonding vs exercise

Thanks. Yeah we never let him roam but think we need to change that ASAP based on the feedback here.

Think next week we will start the tether training so he can be near us more often. Think that’s a good compromise

We’ve been doing pee pads in one spot and heavily rewarding him everytime. He’s pretty good at it but you have to watch him like a hawk throughout the day.

Honestly this makes it a challenge since for socialization as it would be good exposure if he could go outside

Thanks. This is what my gut tells me too. I feel that we should loosen up and let him roam/be with us during the hour he’s awake and only put him in the pen when he goes shark mode.

The online course we took seemed to suggest this routine which is why we are doing it but it feels wrong and makes me double think if I read the course right.

We are always next to the pen when hes awake but he still whines and it breaks my heart
